Building synth patches for Kaitlyn to use on songs for the album. Hope she likes them.
Another update of sorts
time signature shifts are a bitch to program. I envy some of my musical heroes (cough cough Thrice cough) for being able to make the shifts sound so easy and fluid.
anyways, all but 2 songs with drums have demo tracks, Hebrew Reading and Last Lights/Archangels. I'll probably work on the former tonight after work. The latter we have to program the keys and bass before i can do anything.
Will send all tracks to surrogate drummer if we don't find one in the next week or so.
album update thingy
I programmed 3 out of 9 possible drum tracks today for the album, and started on a fourth. The hope is that either these will act as a guide for an actual drummer to understand the structure of the songs when recording/playing them live. Worst case scenario, if i can get them sounding good enough, we can theoretically record the album without a drummer in the lineup.
Crash cymbal sounds are hard to tweak.
Progress, though, as it were.
Screaming In Straight Lines
Nail these frames to the wall all you want They'll still be pictureless Play these games with my head on and on I taste your bitterness
You cannot put a price on patience You can't say it's worth the wait
Place the blame on my back like a cross A heavy sentiment Call my name in the night when you're lost You'll get no settlement
No Corners
You reside in seeds of sickness A house of unborn virtue Castrating the connection between Doing everything you can to modify What it is I see in my eyes In my head, your love was better left unsaid
There will be no corners cut no chance to sneak in through the back door If I'm really who you want, then stand fast No faltering, no falling down I won't mistake you for perfect But at least attempt to make a move in my direction Say your selection now, or lose your so-called savior
The angel you claim to adore The one that you abandoned Damaging and dissonant you seem Saying anything you can to pacify What you've done to my heart To my soul, I will not give you control
Daredevil
I hold you in my head Like the water from a dromedary A mess of pain and pain and processes unfinished That you would steel away Pick pocket all the pulse that I have left So tonight i'm coming correct
Devil may care, but I dare you not to love me I know you're there, just waiting on the wings In hopes that we ay soar
A cup completely full to the brim With a cold confession You pry it from my lips Listening with little thirst Yet still and sure you stand, gold dripping off your fingertips Well, tonight I'm placing my bets
Devil may care, but I dare you not to love me I know you're there, just waiting on the wings You can run, you can hide, you can try to deny But you know that you're living a lie Devil may care, but I dare you not to love me In hopes that we may soar
In the night, at the speed of light You don't have to be scared, I will hold you tight Like a straight jacket, I'm going insane for you Don't play hard to get, cause you know you'll reget I'm always ready, you just get set and go
