Frustrations
Larger scale:
The idea that there is "individual thought." There is only what society has previously conditioned us to think - which may be different for each one of us, but seriously don't bullshit yourself or anyone else into thinking that there is such a thing. The media has so much control on our minds today - the very mention of "socialism" is looked down upon, automatically worse than any alternative. We subscribe to concepts with our interactions as a toddler, watching something as innocent as television commercials. We are told how to act, how to think, all the while facing ostracization if we do not comply. There is no more perfect experiment in operant conditioning.
Smaller scale:
one nation, under god are you fucking serious
lack of rational thought among peers, more mindless copying and drinking in without comprehension
lack of ability to stand up for ideals among peers
capitalist (overly-competitive) system which promotes individual fights rather than the power of mass groupings of people
lack of knowledge of current events among peers
media influence on minds on a day-to-day basis (media as in companies looking to boost ratings instead of public/comedy central satire or intellectual news
more to come, I'm sure
