I know and indeed respect your lack of interest on the show, but I’ve seen your posts about its clothes and aesthetics so I hope you won’t mind this question: what do you think about some characters looks like Cersei’s short hair, everybody in black, the big shoulderpads of evil or house colours forgotten? Hi! Thank you, I am a little better now, I appreciate your asking ♥ No, you’re not bothering me, but I’m just not a big fan of the clothing aesthetic on the show. Some of it is pretty, and there are lots of tiny details I admire about the costumes when you get to see them up close, but I think a lot of those details got lost on screen, so it doesn’t do a good job showing you how wealthy a lot of the nobility is.

I prefer the bright technicolor of films from the 1950s and 60s, and the grand scale of Old Hollywood from the 1930s through the 1960s. I like lots of colors and opulent designs, lots of sparkly jewelry on everyone, lots of spectacle. Colors, I like colors in all things. 

I have an artwork I commissioned showing off (colorful) fashions for each of the different regions of Westeros. It is my wallpaper rn and it would show you all my headcanons, but I am not ready to put that one up here until 2018. 

However, I have another commission that should be done in a month or so, and it has a lot of different Lannister fashions, so hopefully that will be of interest? 

In the meantime, I have a tag for #fashion in westeros that you might enjoy! My thoughts on ASOIAF fashion tend to be things like the Northerners having Russian-inspired clothing with lots of embroidery, while westermen/reachermen favor jewels set into the fabric with lots of wastefulness for the sake of fashion. (I think I’ve talked about all this before though?) I don’t think I have anything on my mind rn that isn’t already in that #fashion in westeros tag tho. (If I do come up with more things, that is the tag it will go in.) 

Also, I have to recommend @argelladurrandon and @alamutjones and @moonlitgleek and @bidonica to you, because they are each great at this fashion / aesthetic / worldbuilding thing if you want to fish for more ideas on this subject! (They are fabulous, everyone needs to follow them.)
