Oh thank god. I don't really like the frlg red either. Not because I find him inferior or "lol pixiv fujo red is so much sexier ^\\\\^ nosebleed" but because he looks exactly like Leaf. I like a little variety in my trio.

I don’t have a problem with him really, and honestly I should like him better than OG Red because I actually played FRLG before the original games, so I was exposed to FRLG Red first, but. Idk. FRLG Red is still a cutie patootie, but I don’t like him as much as the original Red!

And yes I totally understand! A lot of people see FRLG Red and Leaf as siblings because they look so similar. And that would be interesting if the other actually showed up as an NPC beside your player character throughout the game, but alas…

I guess I’m so used to Red as the strong, silent, mysterious and somewhat intimidating type that I feel he adopts that look better as the original (and I mean, red eyes? Freaky but totally awesome!) than as the FRLG version. (I’m still kinda angry at Nintendo for sticking with that look in Sun and Moon, but whatever. I can draw him as the original in fanart lmfao)
