So I’m in the process of making a song playlist for this story. I’ve only got twenty songs so far, but honestly that’s enough to make a game out of it. Make your best guess at who each song is about or for. Some songs apply to more than one character, but never all of them. Some are more obvious than others. This is (so far) only the eight in the pinned post of this blog. Fair warning; some of these songs are pretty angsty and/or sad.
I’m actually going to give out prizes to the winner(s)! Both Coral and Lysandros eventually give every one of the (rest of) main eight a handmade gift, so I’m making the prizes those! Basically I’ll ask the winner(s) who they want to have “made” the item, and who their favorite character is so they can get that character’s item. They both make something important for themselves at that time too, so don’t worry if you want something Ly made but your favorite is him, or you want something Coral made but your favorite is them! (It doesn’t have to be a favorite character’s item. It can be whoever the winner(s) want! I just said favorite as an example.)
If I get more than five participants in this, I’ll add a second place winner. Second place will still get an item; first place will get an upgrade. First place will also get to pick a scenario for me to write the characters in. But only if I get more than five participants. I’ll be announcing the winner(s) whenever I get at least two participants and feel like ending it.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION! I’m apparently partial to Wayland (at least when it comes to song picking), so there’s more songs for him than you might think. There’s at least one for everyone, though that one may double. There are three that are for everyone.
LOOK AT THEM. They’re so cute!!! They’re from an original work I’m writing. I’m only on chapter three so far, but it’s going fast. Here’s the main four characters! (Created with this) I will gladly link anyone the chapters, as long as you promise not to post them anywhere. I want to publish this book and I can’t have it out there not in my name, otherwise I’ll get blamed for plagiarism.
(His eye colour is hard to see because of his glasses, but it’s pastel mint green) This is Lysandros. He has Mild Marfan Syndrome, so his limbs are lanky and awkward. He’s also got slight scoliosis, flat feet, fatigue, and nearsightedness because of it. He’s lucky not to have the other problems that come with more severe Marfan Syndrome, but it’s enough to severely damage his self confidence (and energy).
This is Wayland. He’s Lysandros’ best friend. He’s one of the most popular people at their university, but he’s fiercely loyal. He’s also incredibly protective, though he knows when to let things run their course. His hair is much longer than Ly’s. (Down to his tailbone when it’s completely straight, for anyone that wants to know.) He can hold his own; in an argument, in a physical fight, against alcohol. Pretty much any situation.
This is Albion. He has severe anxiety, though he tries his hardest not to show it. He comes off as annoying and he speaks too much, but it’s just because he’s trying to reassure himself. He has to fill the silence otherwise his thoughts become irrational. He toys with his lip piercing when it gets too quiet in class, that way he can still distract himself without disrupting everyone.
This is Cicilia. She’s Albion’s best friend. She’s absolutely not afraid to speak her mind. Despite this, she’s a mystery to everyone, including Albion. She knows many, many things about their classmates, and he doesn’t know how. He’s not sure he wants to know. In reality, she’s just incredibly observant and persuasive. Cicilia has an hourglass figure, and she’s chubby. She wants to be pale, but she’s also a fan of the warmth the sun gives off, so she always has a slight tan or sunburn.

This is Kellie. She has a huge heart, especially when it comes to animals. Her parents own their own bakery, and she works hard to help them despite her mobility issues. She dreams of having her own aquarium to run one day. Not only would it help preserve the oceans, but it would also help her family out of poverty. They moved to town recently, for a better doctor for her and because of the wealthy people around. They hope being in the area will give them a living wage.
This is Coral Reef, or Coral for short. They are happy to have finally found who they are, and they do not care what others think about it. They are confident in themself, and they love confusing transphobes that happen to be attracted to them. They will gladly answer questions for someone questioning their gender, and they will always protect those people. They are mildly popular online because of their make up videos and their insistence that nonbinary people do not owe anyone androgyny.
This is Vale. He has Heterochromia Iridium, though it’s very difficult to see because of how similar in color his eyes are. He dyed his hair the way he did to hopefully help it pop, but now he only gets comments on that, not his eyes. He looks intimidating, but he’s a huge sweetheart. He’s not afraid to speak his mind though. He has an intolerance for hate, and will absolutely roast anyone spewing it. He works as a stripper at an LGBTQ+ bar.
This is Araminta, or Ara for short. She’s a hard worker, and it shows in every movement she makes. She has a passion for dance of all sort; so much so she seems to glide along the floor instead of walk. She tore her vocal cords when she was eleven, and she doesn’t talk much now. She fears she may tear them again, and the damage might not be so easily fixed this time. Her silence only makes her seem more like an apparition. She uses both sign language and writing to communicate the majority of the time. She does speak on occasion, but only around those she really trusts, and only in a whisper.
Bonus Knox (He’s a blacksmith so I had to create him wearing some of his stuff)
Their Mother (creator here)
Ly and Star’s downturned eyes come from their father. I won’t be making him because he’s not physically in this story, but for anyone curious he has curly black hair, deep green eyes, and glasses.
Knox has longer hair in the back, but he keeps it in a mini ponytail so it’s not in his way when he’s working. He’s gotten into the habit of never taking it out, he works so often.
Lysandros - Masculine, but on the softer side. Think high school nerdy boy voice.
Wayland - Moderately masculine. Think cool guy everyone likes but doesn’t do anything important voice.
Albion - Moderately masculine, leaning toward deep. Think high school ”main jock” voice.
Cicilia - Deep feminine. She can spook people by dropping her voice to an almost masculine tone, but her comfort tone is still feminine enough she’s not misgendered over the phone.
Kellie - Moderately feminine. Think those popular girls that don’t have obnoxious personalities.
Coral Reef - Masculine androgynous. People have difficulties with their gender because their choice in fashion and their voice “don’t mix.”
Vale - Deep masculine. People often flinch back from him when they hear his voice for the first time.
Araminta - Moderately feminine, leaning toward high. Her voice almost sounds like the larger jingle bells, but a bit more pleasant to listen to.
