"Your balance is all wrong if you stand like that," he huffed. Maybe snarky, but as much as he hated to think of it he remembered Van commenting much the same thing when he was younger. He'd taken it to heart. He hated that he had.

"Or were you hoping to get knocked off your feet if someone tried to attack?" Asch reasoned someone would have to be stupid to attack the Fon Master, especially if he had guardians with him. Still. Points for trying to offer advice?

The warmth of his hand on her head, it’s soothing to her. All of it was soothing to her, like the warmth of fur on a cold night. She’s not alone like this. Slowly she steps a little bit closer to hug him, nuzzling his chest with a happy noise. “Of course. Arietta loves Master Ion, Arietta won’t forget.” Because he was very precious too her and she’d always protect him.

of course there was. there were many people he held dear. he knew this wasn’t his ion, and yet luke couldn’t help but think this ion was precious anyway. important. someone dear to someone. his lips pursed as a painful expression passed through his eyes, and after a second of pause, his lips quirked up in a soft smile. he nodded.

      He nods to everything the original says. He knows all to well how hard it is to happy, or even fake happiness when you feel horriable. The number of times he lied right to Jade and Anise faces when they asked if he was okay or having fun.
