Oh,  the  other  always  knew  how  to  turn  the  situation  around  on  him.  That  is  for  sure.  Annoyed  and  trying  to  keep  himself  calm,  his  eye  twitched.  "  I  can't  even  lock  my  door  when  you  sleep,  because  one  way  or  another,  I  find  you  in  there.  I  question  if  you  sleep  in  my  room  when  I'm  gone."  Not  that  he  would  care,  even  if  he  didn't  want  to  admit  it,  it  was  lonely  without  the  other  around.  SOMETIMES.

"We  aren't  here  to  talk  about  me.  I  am  talking  about  you  right  now."  Meaning,  you  don't  get  that  answer  today.  He's  pulling  another  one  tonight.

"Now why would I sleep in your room when I have one of my own? You did also put a warning sign on your door." He pointed out. Perhaps sleep wasn't the right word. He liked to sit in his room when he was gone and the girls were studying. Just like when they were children, Qifrey always found himself in Olruggio's orbit in some way.

Not answering was all the answer he really needed and he clicked his tongue off the roof of his mouth. "I'll make sure to make you something hearty and delicious to eat too. You'll need all the energy you can get."

"  YOU  WOULDN'T  HAVE  --  I  would  have  known  if  you  were  awake  --…  stop  moving  my  things  around,  please.  If  it  is  you  moving  everything,  I'll  —  I  don't  know  what  I'll  do,  but  it  will  be  to  mess  with  you..  "  he  blinked,  second-guessing  himself  now.  Shaking  his  head,  he  straightened  himself  out  of  a  moment,  and  let  out  a  small  cough  to  go  back  to  himself  being  straight  again.

"  It's  not  like  I  don't  disagree  about  that,  but  it's  starting  to  get  more  and  more.  You  need  to  rest  and  stop  worrying  so  much.  You're  already  gray."

A little laugh escaped him seeing Olly's distress, clearly amused by the situation. "I would never move your things on purpose Olly. Maybe subconsciously I want to and that's why I do it in my sleep." Maybe he just wanted to stay close to his oldest and dearest friend, instead of half a house away, and couldn't do so when awake.

"I will rest and relax when you too, stop pushing yourself so hard. How many late nights have you pulled this week alone?"

"Don't  get  me  started  on  the  sleep  walking,  that  was  years  ago.  You  would  walk  around  in  your  sleep  moving  things!"  he  shook  his  head  with  a  small  huff  that  followed.  Being  together  for  years,  he  watched  and  made  sure  the  other  idiot  didn't  hurt  himself.

"You  sleep-talk  about  food.  A  lot,  what  you  want  to  make  the  girls  next?"

"Are you sure I was sleep walking? Maybe I was awake the entire time and moved things because I knew it would drive you mad and only pretended to be asleep because you caught me~" He teased softly, smile fond and small. Was that the truth? He would never tell.

"Sounds like I worry in my sleep as much as I worry when I'm awake. They need to eat proper to stay strong and healthy."

"Uhhuh  ---"  he  allowed  that  to  go  a  little  longer  on  his  tongue  than  anything.  "  Would  you  like  to  tell  that  to  my  coat  next  time  you  decide  to  fall  asleep  on  me?"

"Besides,  you  also  mumble  in  your  sleep.  Would  you  like  to  know  what  you  say?"

"I drool and I mumble? What next Olly? Do I walk too?" Nonsense. Utter nonsense and he knows Olruggio was only saying to tease and poke fun but he puffed his cheeks out at the thought of it anyways.

"See, y-you boys are fine..." It was beginning to be less rare for her to laugh, but it often was connected to Goku in some way.

"Alright, I'll make you both, then! You can be my official tester, yes?"

" 'Course we are." He bothered Gojyo, and Gojyo bothered him. Hakkai thought it was amusing and Sanzo shot at them to make them shut up. That was how things had been for the entire trip, and even before then but not to the same extreme. They weren't constantly in each others vicinity as much as they were now.

He perked up, glad to see her laughing a bit. "I can do that! I like taste testing food!"

"But before any further traveling is considered, we should make sure that you are in shape to walk again. Old Lumiére isn't just around the corner... and even if it were, you want to be prepared for what you will find in that place."

"You make a good point. As riveting as my conversations with Esquie have been, it would be nice to be up on my own two feet and seeing everything you all are." He was feeling better each passing day but he needed to be in fighting shape so he could join them as they travelled instead of staying in the safety of Esquie's company.

Not that he'd been sitting idle while they were all gone getting Monoco. He had worked on his arm and could sit up and move a little on his own now. If healing tints weren't so few and far between he'd use more but he didn't want to take away the use of them from the others.

"What is Old Lumiere like? What exactly is it Verso hopes to find there?"

Blue eyes scrunched in delight as their arms came to wrap around their lover's frame. Lips pressing greedily back into the kiss, stealing as much affection as possible. He hated being apart from him, of course it was necessary for their survival, but after years of separation, even a few days felt like torture. Then again, has anything really changed at all in that regard? Even as children, Alma had hated being away from Kanda. No matter how many times they bickered and fought each other bloody, they kept migrating naturally back to one another. Souls bound to one another in this life, the last, and hopefully the next one, once these artificial bodies of theirs finally give out.

In their next life . . . he will definitely find Yu again and love him for longer. He's sure of it.

"Mhmm. I'd rather be here with you though." He slipped his arms around Alma's waste to pull them closer and pressed their foreheads together, soaking in a grin he was most fond of. It was his first memory in this life; Alma's grin. In their next life, he hoped it was one of the first things he was met with too.

He used his visits to the village as an opportunity to scope out how things were. Were there any signs of akuma? Of the Earl or the Order? The only person who knew what part of the world they were in was Allen and while they never really saw eye to eye, he trusted the beansprout would keep the information to himself.

So far that proved to true. They were truly given the time and space to be together for as long as they had left. He could admit he owed Allen that much, at least.

"I was given those little pastries you like to bring back." He hummed. "We should both go next time."
