' hey ! whatâd you do that for ? ' @originhl sounded petulant with the question posed, and Karen could only stare at her with the most pointlessly scathing look she possessed. The young woman was poised in the middle of Karenâs living room, the blonde feeling the last bit of adrenaline that had surged through her moments before plummeting.
âWhyâd I smack you? Because you broke into my house in the middle of the night, Mapone! I could have shot you!â The gun in Karenâs hand was jiggled with unneeded emphasis, eyes moving back to the office that Mapone had appeared from. âItâs nearly 3 in the morning. What are you doing here?â
Karen had always had an open door policy, but she drew the line at windows and breaking and entering (for good reason). The gun was placed on her coffee table, Karen double-checking the window in her office and adjusting the lock on it while making a mental note to buy a different lock.
@originhl sent â i need to get out . â â fliss
"you do, huh?" calypso asked. she stood back a little, trying to think through their problem. this wasn't something fliss could just talk her way out of. calypso couldn't use magic to get out of it either, at least not in the ways she was accustomed to. "i don't particularly enjoy being trapped here either." she looked up at the ceiling, hoping the monsters above them didn't manage to cave in the ceiling. the idea of a cave in wasn't particularly attractive to her. she wouldn't die from it, she would have to suffer through it for as long as it took for someone to find her.
@originhl sent ' what are you , catholic ? ' â bear to luciana
"i was a nun..." luciana glanced over at her companion knowing he'd enjoy that little tidbit of information. "lifetimes ago." spouting off whole pages of scripture upon seeing a painting was behavior most people weren't able to do accurately or at all these days. looking at graffiti on a wall could illicit familiarity with a verse or the idea of something that came from spirituality in most people, but very few could understand the references in as much detail as someone who had been a part of the church. "does that surprise you?"
you look sophisticated . like you know things . â tempest to diana
          manicured fingers grasped the edges of her white russian, lightly whirling the contents, ice softly clinking. she was tempting to take a load off after the day sheâd had, shooing off any annoying men who think they stood a chance. though the person next to her wasnât one of those men who tried to hit on her, in fact, they werenât a man at all.
          diana had never considered herself to be very social. there was a reason she lived on her own and only had a dog for company. it was hard for her to make friends and she didnât make it easy, anyway. suddenly she was hyper aware of the blood caked beneath her crimson red painted nails ( despite the scrubbing sheâd done when washing them ) and the bruises she hid beneath her clothes.
          she observed the stranger for a few moments longer before finally speaking. â can i help you with somethinâ ? â
â what am I , contagious ? â â scott to nancy
          â no, itâs justâ â today had not been a good day. not that many of nancyâs days seemed to be good as of late, anyway. if not for the way she immersed herself into school activities, sheâd have no way to ignore the near constant bad feelings. talking things out seldom helped, even less so when the ONLY person she had to talk to about it all was her mother. karen, bless her heart, tried her best but it wasnât enough. nothing she could say satisfied any of nancyâs feelings. the person she wantedâNEEDEDâto talk to about it wouldnât answer the fucking phone or always had an excuse to cut the conversation short. bullshit. â just sit down. itâs fine. â
@originhl: don't come any closer . . . â tempest
âOr else?â Kwannon kept her hands raised, proving that she was unarmed. Sheâd come upon the young woman after following a trail of bodies and was eager to find out why. âNot that I donât doubt your threat. Consider my question one of curiousity instead.â
@originhl: â ah , so you arenât heartless after all . â â glitch
âI have no idea what youâre talking about.â Ava quickly pulled her jacket around herself and did up the zipper. Being vulnerable other people wasnât easy; being teased for it, even worse. âYouâd prefer I left you to bleed out, then?â She picked up the half-empty packet of gauze and threw it at their chest.
