it's so fucked up that we live in a world where orin the red is trapped inside of baldur's gate 3.
Anyway you ever think about how the two major npcs durge is compelled to kill are. innocent bard girl. and innocent woman who has been wronged and manipulated and had her life controlled by her father in ways she doesn't even fully comprehend yet. and then at the end of their journey bhaal is going to pit them against orin their sister who wants nothing more than to have what she does and the way she executes it skillfully/beautifully Mean something and who has been wronged and manipulated and had her life controlled by her father in ways she doesn't even fully comprehend yet. blinks wetly at you
although my funniest strong bg3 opinion is actually that any time i see a cute durge with baby orin post or art or whatever i have to scroll past while shaking my head solemnly because the crux of orin's character is that from the moment of her birth she was redundant she was always already a failure who was only good for being slaughtered even though she had no way of understanding that and it makes absolutely no sense for durge to have been around and acknowledged before her birth/when she was an infant
i forgot to include orin the red and dak-wai in here because they are not 'from bg3' to me they are my real children. that i've raised. and my dear friends
its the cain and abel the enemy brotherrr.... it could only ever have been one of you. there's only one of you it could be and it's not you and it doesn't matter if your brother doesn't want it, if he loves you enough to give you whatever you want, because the one thing you want most is what can never be given to you. it doesn't matter if you kill him for it. god loved him more and god still loves him more after you kill him. it was always going to be him. it can never be anyone other than him. you've always been doomed no matter how much you might try to save yourself. you saved him by killing him, even in that ultimate act of hatred you loved him. you killed him and by doing so he was finally able to live, but You've been dead since the beginning. there's nothing anyone can do for you. THE FRATRICIDE SIBLINGS 🔥🔥🔥
orin the red is real to me and i know her. i'll get her out of baldur's gate 3 and larian's custody one day
orin the red i wouldve killed lots of people with you and kept you alive forever
truly my eyes glaze over whenever someone expresses sympathy for the evil bg3 men like okay what about orin my friend orin. none of them have a fraction of her swag... she's so unbelievably tragic but that doesn't stop her from serving. she can't do anything right she was literally dead and doomed from the beginning. ok. from the moment of her birth there was nothing for her. do you understand. what if the sacrificial lamb was too innocent to understand what was going on as she turned the knife on the shepherd who raised her to be killed. because she was a child. and every breath she took after that would always be a mistake and she couldn't possibly understand that because she was a child!!! that was born to be slaughtered. there was never anything else for her, there was never anything for her. she was supposed to be dead, she was never supposed to exist. right. the dark urge took her life from her by being born and took any other life she could have had by dying. she gave them a life she could never have by killing them. and nobody gave her anything nobody cared for her and even if durge does there's nothing they can do for her. it's one or the other and it was never going to be her. every aspect of her existence is a lie she desperately wants to believe but if you try to unravel it she'll disappear. orin the red i will get you out of there i promise
