I thought it would be neat to do some fakemon concept art in a similar style to the Scarlet and Violet Books; a kind of collection of wildlife sketches. If the designs change later on, it's probably because the researchers who made the sketches didn't observe the Pokemon thoroughly enough, heh.
These are the "Rattata" and "Pidgey" of Mist Island. Just your average li'l Normal-type and Flying-type fellers.
Since we still haven’t made a dev blog on Tumblr yet, here’s some more updates on Pokémon Flux!

Mercub, the Playful Pokémon. Its nickname is "Goof of the Sea." Sailors will offer toys and food when they see one, believing it will grant them safety through their voyage. Really, it just loves being around nice people and knows a nice person from a mean one. Sightings have become rare and it's unknown if it's because of population decline or decreasing amount of nice people in the world. Water type. Possibly fairy. Day 15- Russia, based on the Baba Yaga and the Lammergeier Cerrado Dex ??? Barbayaga (Gypaetus barbatus, the Bearded Vulture/Lammergeier + Baba Yaga) The Bone Eater Pokemon Dark/Flying Gluttony/Tangling Hair/Tangled Feet Often being vilified in folklore due to their particular taste in bones, Barbayaga can be wise guides to their forested homes if you approach them properly. Those who are rude to them or other inhabitants to their woods are often never seen again. Barbayaga © slickedbackArtisan Do not copy, steal, or use.

Front and back sprite commissioned from @oripoke along with an icon! They turned out really great, and I have been showing them off in various places, so it's time for here! I might add a Pokedex style entry later...
