The spiky silvery-blue leaves and blue-green flowers of this Festuca glauca (blue fescue) looked impressive against this orange-rust metal background. This compact, evergreen grass provides texture and interest to containers or to the front of a border.

The evergreen Carex testacea (orange New Zealand sedge) provides winter interest as the arching olive-green leaves become a coppery-orange in the cold. A useful plant for edging a border of coloured stems.
