Okay, so

Letting her best soldiers fight Taurox and fail is a very poor strategic move on her part; not only is it a blow to the war effort, it's bad for the morale of her people. If she really cares about them, she would have put a stop to the fights after the first couple of attempts.

So what if she's letting it happen on purpose? For what purpose, you might ask? Their life essence, of course

It would undoubtedly be faster to get it from the living, but that has too many risks involved. What if someone escapes and exposes her? Or what if someone sees her in action? It would ruin her! Maybe not immediately, but it would eventually.

No, much easier to get it from the recently deceased, who can't run and can't scream. They might not have as much essence as someone alive would, but it's enough for her to store up for later use. And to probably extend her life as well

The fights are also a good way to shift any blame off of her onto Taurox. "Look," she says, "see how savage he is, how brutal! See how brave our soldiers are for facing him knowing they could die; see how valiant they are!"

What really started this theory are her eyes

I mean, look at them

Now come compare them to Ornithicera's

Both sets glow faintly, they're almost the same shade, and they're both lacking pupils.

I don't think this means she's possessed - she doesn't have those gold veins 'Cera does - but she's definitely doing something involving sorcery and the Eldar Ones. It's very possible she's trying to become a Transcended one, and I would not be surprised if that's the route David takes

The paint job is better, they weigh much less, and I accidentally added a bit of individualism by twisting the bottom prongs the wrong way

Except they don't match... and they're too big...

They both have a list of things I don't like about them, though the size and uniformity of the whole are my biggest issues

So I'm making a second pair

Yaaaay...

I'm actually enjoying the process of this more, and I think they'll fit on my head better
