“Remember: family is what you choose to make it.”
Orthius basically views Eli as his furless son and it is very important to me okay because furdad loves his furless son

Ebonhawke is my home, too, whether these mice like it or not. And most of them don’t. But that... doesn’t matter. I owe a good man a debt, and until that is repaid in full, I’m not leaving.
Just a tiny little something between Wolfe and Orthius (two of my OCs) that I found in my little class doodling notebook.
“There’s something quite beautiful about you.”
Wolfe looks up just in time to watch as Orthius’ face flushes over, the human’s mind catching up with what he has just said. But even though he bites his lip with concern, he doesn’t scrape and beg forgiveness like other humans would have upon making such a statement. Instead he looks him straight in the eye and allows his words to stand in a way that Wolfe has begun to respect.
A strange thing indeed, for the speaker of animals.
“what do you mean by this?” Wolfe prods, the human tongue garbled quite strangely in his mouth.
Did somebody say more hot charr dad?
No?
Just me then?
