I'm walking Kinder Scout this weekend. Last time I did it with my dad, and we had a map from the 1980s. On this map, over the top of the plateau, was written the equivalent of "you can definitely get across here but fucked if I know the route." There was no path written. I have a modern map from 4 years ago, which has a path shown. This path is a lie. I know for a fact there is no path there.
The path itself looks like an African border, like someone knew where the other parts began and ended and just drew across with a straightedge.
Why would you do that? Just be on a map and lie?
