Mac people- help!
I want to upgrade to Mavericks but I've been reading reviews telling me to backup my mac first. Now, I don't have an external hard drive nor can I afford one right now. Is it absolutely imperative that I backup? How many of you upgraded without doing a backup, and did you have any issues?

Mac people-
I want to update to the new OS but I'm not sure how to do it- I'm reading lots of reviews that are telling me to back up my files to an external hard drive (which I don't have and can't afford). Is there any other way of backing up my files? Is it even absolutely necessary to back up my files? I really don't know anything about stuff like this, please help a girl who is technologically clueless.
*starts hyperventilating* Apple just gave me a popup for a free upgrade to OS Mavericks..... DO I WANT TO DO IT?! *clutches chest* I'm currently still with Snow Leopard LOL! Which I've never had a problem with.....

just got OS Mavericks. If someone had told me I would be able to open tabs in Finder I would have stopped being lazy ages ago.
OS Mavericks should've been named Snow Leopard bc since I downloaded it my computer is always freezing.
