The Art of the Vikings

The art of the Vikings tended to be utilitarian art. In other words, their artworks were on the items they used. For example, the Vikings decorated the posts of their ships. The sculptor captured the scariness of the animal through its protruding eyes and its teeth. It has Roman influences seen in the animal form and the intricate interlace pattern.
