This is me and @luxartandcreations with Toby after his performance in Oslo (8 December 2017). The play was amazing, very topical, but not pedantic, and surprisingly funny.
Despite being tired, Toby stayed and talked with us for a couple of minutes. I thanked him for his portrayal of Flint, because it meant a lot to me (queer kid, here), and he said it meant a lot to him as well. Then, I mentioned his heartbreaking delivery of the Freedom in the Dark speech, and he told me he wished he’s written it himself (don’t we all, Toby?). He was absolutely lovely, and he was glad, I think, to know we would see him on Sunday as well for the Dahl reading. I’m just so happy I got to meet him. He’s a sweetheart.
