Two Osprey... Wanted both a version from the book description and comic depiction.
joined this fandom too late to be the #1 turtle fan so ig my only other choice is to be the #1 osprey enjoyer
rlly interested in osprey and perils dynamic wish we got to see him for more than like half a chapter 💔 esp the fact that despite being shown to be knowledgeable of skywing traditions and beliefs and having been one of the guards sent to kill peril and kestrel when she had just hatched he seems to have legitimately cared about her and not been afraid of her like other skywings are
instead of ignoring her or being cruel to peril outright he taught her to read/write and told her about the champions shield, a law that literally could only ever benefit peril. peril also describes osprey’s death as being one of the major tragedies in her life on par with the death of her mother and the near-death of clay.
just rlly interesting to me how osprey went out of his way to be there for peril and teach her when no one else would. his granddaughter fr :[[
Saddest Death: Osprey
[ID: A drawing of Osprey's death from Wings of Fire. He is falling into a bright blue sky with puffy white clouds. He is falling away from the viewer with a look of surprise and fear on his face. His two broken wings flare uselessly at his sides. A few feathers flutter off his body a he plummets to his death. He is a grey-red color with dark red horns and a white-pink belly. /End]
Back to that WOF prompt list for a hot sec because I finally finished it. I had some major art block. I really had drawing talons and I had to draw a lot of them. This is the saddest death in the books to me. It was close to Gill's death and Freedom's death. But Osprey's death was so sad for me because he was the one dragon who was actually nice to Peril. And she couldn't save him. I loved Axjaxx's and the graphic novel's designs for him from a color standpoint. In the book it was his tail that kept him from flying however in the graphic novel he had torn wings. I incorporated both of those issues. He has a broken tail and wings that suffered multiple injuries.
And before you ask, yeah there should be ground beneath him. But I didn't want to draw the ground and I liked the contrast of the sky with his colors better. So it doesn't really make sense.... but I think it looks cool anyway.
