Ryo stared at the other for an uncomfortably long time. His fingers lightly traced the blade of the dagger in his other hand, as if contemplating the other's words quite deeply. Well, it was that or he was processing if Malik even spoke to him at all.
"...So what if it does?" Since when did he care? "It doesn't concern you. I can deal with it if it goes south." Unfocused, exhausted blue eyes slowly trailed down to the little black book on his lap. The circle looks right, everything he needs is in the circle.... right? He had to lean over and do an inventory check, just to be certain. "Did you have a change of heart?" Hm, yeah, that looks right. "Do you perhaps feel guilty about what you did to me?" Ryo's tone wasn't as aloof as it was before; bitterness had taken hold and strangled the life out of it. "I didn't know you had a sympathetic bone in your body." Once again, he looked up, a cold anger replacing the empty, tired gaze that once rested itself on his face. "So, tell me again, why do you care about whether or not this kills me? I'm awfully curious."
