Ostara pt. 1
So Ostara starts today, or at least to me. It verries among witches.
Tonight I set up my alter, next to my window seal garden. Depicted is a great tarot reading I got from asking a few questions. I liked it so much I platted it attop a bed of herbs and tea. Every piece of stone, gem, crystal piece and jewelry I have rests on the cards. There are some pieces of metal and wood as well. Then I have sprinkles in some wild flowers. I also have fresh and dried roses. To top it off with I have a secret paper.
Next to that (left), is my rain water to charge with a candle on top and a St. Jude candle. I blend a lot of beliefs. I personally love the name Jude. The patron saint of lost causes just calls to me when I feel depressed. Also, the Florence Welch song St. Jude speaks to my soul.
To the right, both my tarot decks. The larger is an archetype deck I got as a gift. I just started using it after having it for almost three years. The lady who gave it to me was a teacher I had who also saw the potential for magic in me. I love her.
Then I have my smaller traditional tarot deck. Standard. I also have some thread. I bought a caldron candle back in October and haven’t used it. Now is the perfect time. Lastly, a standard white candle. My large candles will be blown out before bed, but I have three small candles which will stay lit till they go out.
Like I said these are all next to my window seal garden. I live in a college apartment; space is small.
All of this took forever because I had to get the right spacing. I can already feel the magic charging in the air. This is before I call on anything mind you. It’s only day one!
If you have any questions as to why I put each item up, symbolism, etc. let me know! I’m happy to answer any questions.
I’ll be posting more for each day of Ostara! I have some good personal inventions, spells, and tips to come!
