Me, seeing my area conflated with an area from another state AND seeing a bunch of Friesiaboos romanticizing my dying out culture and home:
Thank you please leave us alone we would like not to have even more tourists buying our homes, outpricing us, making every single shop about them, accessorizing and making a mockery of our culture and paying us pennies while raising rent to the point that we can’t even move out of parental homes on a full time job anymore 🥰
PLUS demanding us to not speak our language while they get to push their dialects on us. Can’t tell you how often I was yelled at at work for speaking my language with local customers while not understanding the very thick dialect of the customer afterwards
If I have to see one more person coming here because it’s “soo cozy and I am suchhh a local bc I went here every summer #Küstenkind #Ostfrieslandliebe” I am gonna maul someone. You are worse than backpackers who “only hang out with locals”
My home is becoming a theme park for tourists. Did you know that in the coastal regions more and more neighborhoods (even entire TOWNS) consist only of vacation apartments? Those are homes that stay empty half a year while we have a local housing crisis. But we are soooo ghibli-esque 🙄
Leave. Us. Alone. We already had to take surnames because of other Germans deciding we need to assimilate. We don’t want any more of this. Please.
Schon cute ;)
