A/n: So this is really short, but I’m trying to get back into writing for Gotham, so here this is?
Title: Sneak
Y/n glances behind her shoulder one more time before reaching for the doorknob. Just as she does, the door is yanked open, causing y/n to gasp. Her eyes slowly lift to meet Oswald’s icy blue gaze. “Oh- thank god, it’s just you.” She attempts to move forward, but Oswald shifts slightly, blocking her way. “Where are you going, y/n?” He asks, his head tilting slightly as a nervous laugh bubbles past his lips. Y/n smiles as she casts her gaze away from him. “Well,” she begins gently, tugging at the sleeve of her hoodie. “I was just going to go out with some friends. They’re waiting outside, parked a few blocks away.” Oswald’s eyes instantly narrow. “You’re sneaking out, in the middle of the night, to go out with your friends?” He asks, his cheeks flushing. Y/n nods. “And your friends parked only a few blocks away?” He asks, the nervousness becoming more apparent as his voice grows harsher. “Well- it might be more than a few blocks.” She mumbles, looking down at the ground slightly. “How much further?” Oswald coaxes, lifting her face up to study her features. “Maybe…a mile away? I don’t know.” Oswald’s eyes flash. “Y/n, how god damn stupid are you?” It takes her a minute to register the fear in his voice as he backs away, grabbing his jacket. “Walking a mile to meet your friends, at three in the morning, without another soul in this house knowing where you’re going? You could be kidnapped, or murdered!” He exclaims, slinging his jacket over his shoulders. As she looks up at him, her lips curl into a smile. “Are you worried about me, Oswald?” His cheeks tint pink as he holds his hand out to you. “Of course I am. I don’t know what I’d do without you, y/n.” He grabs her hand and leads her out the door. “I’ll make sure you get there safely, y/n. And, please, next time you want to sneak out just tell me.”
