definitely watch scott & bailey. it's so easy to work through and you'll probably love rachel. not sure why, but i'm almost certain you'll like her the most. it's really good drama, but it's actually pretty funny too.

do you watch how i met your mother? because i really love that show, even though the last episode was pretty disappointing.

MR SELFRIDGE. you like call the midwife, right? it's got that same feel and amanda abbington is perfect in it. but basically all of the women are amazing and most of the men are idiots.

the hour is really good, but i have to admit that it's a bit slow at first. it's not the easiest show to get into, and it did take me until the second episode to really love it but it's another really great feminist show.

last tango in halifax is also so good and it will probably make you cry. there's a cute old couple, a lesbian couple who have issues but they don't revolve around their sexuality. and it's by sally wainwright, who made scott & bailey and happy valley if you ever saw that. and basically the representation is amazing because sally wainwright doesn't fuck about.

basically pretty much the only shows i watch that you don't watch are british old people shows with amazing female characters, but they're really good and i hope you watch at least one of them!

no it's not really sad, it's more comedy than anything but also hella gay

i just don't want to get invested in a shakespearian tragedy, i'm ok with some sad but mostly happy/funny and i'm definitely ok with hella gay
