Yuriko’s Thoughts on Ōta Division

“Throughout my travels across the world, I have met all sorts of people with connections to forces beyond Humanity. From shamans, and mediums, to the priests of various gods. Each one of them has called me all sorts of things. From “Death’s Flower” to “She Who Death Adores”. I fear Chinami will be no different should she peer into my soul besides I have no need for her visions of the future. I'm much more interested in my unknown past besides if I am to die then it will be on my terms. Only then will I accept death’s embrace like the old friend he is.” 

Kira Chinen

“I met Kira years ago during a contract of mine. It wasn't for very long but during my time there Kira mentioned her sisters and how much she cared for them. I’ll admit I didn't care much for what she said then and eventually, I moved on to other contracts. I didn't expect to see her again.” Yuriko takes a deep breath. “Until I saw her years later as a major when I massacred her unit. I recognized her instantly and was surprised to see her. We ended up fighting and I made quick work out of her.” Yuriko sighs. “I was going to end her life as well when I suddenly remembered Kira mentioning her family.” Yuriko looks down. “To this day I can not tell you what possessed me to spare her perhaps it was the fact that she had two sisters waiting for her back home. Which I guess was more than I could say for myself all those years ago. Now Kira is a contestant in the D.R.B and I'm sure if given the chance will come after me. I know it won't fix anything but I hope to apologize to Kira. I doubt she’ll accept it though.” 

Taria Chinen

“Ah yes her. Taria tried pickpocketing my wallet a while back. The keyword is ‘try’ here.” Yuriko smirks. “I was a pickpocketer a very long time ago and I was only caught once. I know the tricks of the trade. Taria is good I’ll give her that. A regular person wouldn't have felt her but I am not a regular person am I? A word of advice Taria? You are a hundred years too young to be trying to steal from me.” Yuriko pulls out her wallet and waved it in front of her. “However, keep trying little jester and maybe you’ll get lucky one day.”

Yuriko slightly frowns. “I have mixed feelings about this team mainly about Kira. She’s made it clear that she wants to face me.” Yuriko closes her eyes, sighing. After a couple of seconds, she opens them back up. “Revenge is a powerful feeling isn't it Kira? Alright then Huntress come at me will all you got. I won't dishonor you with anything else.”

"I've never really been all that interested in knowing what the future holds, and stuff. You have Tasuku to thank for that. The guy preaches about creating your own future so much, I guess its rubbed off on me. I've also never really been into the fortune teller types. They seem more like a con to me. ...But this woman, she actually seems like she knows what she's doing and saying. Even people here in Fukuoka vouch for her abilities. And I'll admit, it'd be nice to know more about myself and my future."

"I'm not saying I'd go all the way to Ōta just to get a reading from her. ...But, if she happened to take a trip here to Fukuoka and were doing readings for free, well... I wouldn't say 'no'...

Kira Chinen

"An investigator? Ugh, like I said with that team full of cops, we have our own 'law' around here. Cops and such, they aren't exactly welcomed. And if they were bad enough, I hear this chick is supposedly some sort of bigshot in Chuohku, which is more than enough for me to not have here in Fukuoka."

Taria Chinen

"...Ya' know, if you had told me earlier that this kid was that super thief that's been giving the police no end of trouble, I'd have thought you were nuts or something. But from what I hear, she's that so-called "Misfit in Action" chick that's been pillaging everyone's wallets and livelihoods. Ha, I suppose we don't have to worry about seeing her here in Fukuoka. We have so many thieves around, she'd have trouble getting rich around here. Plus, it's not like we have much to take anyway. But hey, as long as she's stealing from people who deserve to have their stuff stolen, then she has my support."

"So... apparently, these three women are all sisters. Guess that should have been a given considering they all have the same last name. But still, they don't look anything alike each other. I mean, even those brothers from Ikebukuro have their whole heterochromia thing going on. These three through, it seems nothing really shows that their siblings. ...But then again, maybe I shouldn't be so judgmental. Tasuku and Ming are siblings, and they're as different as can be. I still remember when they told me that they were related. I almost couldn't believe it. A part of me still doesn't!"

"But anyway, this group, though they're new, may be prove to be dangerous. Mainly, because of the oldest sister. I hear she used to be part of a rap group, so she must have some experience with a mic. We'll have to be careful, especially around her."

"I've heard of Chinami-san from Kira-san. Apparently, she thinks very highly of her older sister. She works as a soothsayer, or a fortune-teller. I'll admit, at first I thought she was some sort of con artist, but some of my classmates say that her fortunes are actually real! Admittedly, most of their questions revolve around things you'd hear from students, like boyfriends, girlfriends, whether they're going to pass a test, be Homecoming Queen or King, or other things of that nature. Me, if possible, I'd like to ask her just who exactly my father is and why all the adults in my life seem to hide him from me..."

Kira Chinen

"Believe it or not, I actually admire and respect Kira-san. I heard that she took over the position of Vice Chief of the Administrative Inspection Bureau after the former woman was arrested. I don't know much about what her position entails, but from what Nemu-san tells me, she basically controls much of what goes in and out of Japan, which makes her one of the most powerful women in all of Chuohku, let alone the country."

"Besides that, despite how she may act when she is off the clock, when she steps into Chuohku and dons her uniform, Kira-san is all about business. I don't know much about her save the fact that she used to serve in the army and now works as a police investigator. She's a definite step-up from Jyuto-san of Yokohama. She can be a little... demanding when it comes to making plans. She likes to be very thorough. I admire that, though I wish she would relax at times..."

Taria Chinen

"Ugh, and here we have my least favorite of this team. Unlike her older sisters, who are exactly doing things to help Japan and its people, she would prefer to spend her time performing little magic tricks and such. I'm not demeaning her or anything. I know she used to be part of a circus troupe, but you'd think she'd have something else to show for it. Plus, I've been hearing a lot about this supposed thief called, "The Misfit in Action". And this girl's MC name is "Misfit."

"I don't want to accuse her of anything, but if she is that thief everyone's been talking about, then I'd better report her to Kira-san, so she can do something about."

"A sibling team... just like Ichiro-san and his younger brothers. Unlike them though, I'm a bit perplexed as to the reasons for why they're entering. Apparently, it's because Chinami-san refused Otome-sama's offer to be her personal soothsayer. ...That's shocking, to say the least. I didn't think the Prime Minister actually believed in fortunes. But if Chinami-san's fortunes are as good as everyone makes them out to be, I can see why the Prime Minister would want access to them. I don't know why Chinami-san refused. Working for the Prime Minister should be an honor that everyone should accept. I wonder how Kira-san is taking this..."

"But regardless, facing this team will be difficult, especially if Chinami-san decides to use her fortunes to help her win. ...I wonder... is this why the Prime Minister forced her to join the D.R.B.? To see her powers up close? If so, it is incredibly wise of her. ...I just hope my friends and I aren't the first team they'll be facing..."

“She’s…blind?” Ayaka blinks slowly “I wonder- how it happened. Was she born blind? Or did an accident happen that hurt her eyes”

“I wasn’t supposed to be able to see either- but they decided that I would be useless without eyes”

They tilt their head curiously.

“I would like to pay her a visit one day- I’m curious about her!”

There’s no expression on her face at first.

“She was one of the people who…was investigating the death of mom and dad” they state blankly “She actually made this one cop back off…he was getting really aggravated by me not knowing anything and he was about to hit me…and she stepped in”

“So I think that this lady is alright- she wasn’t mean when she asked me questions”

“Taria-chan is pretty funny- she’s also good at magic!” Ayaka smiles “Though when I last saw her…my girlfriends wallet went missing. I wonder if it’s just a odd coincidence”

"Some of the socialites here in Aoyama are avid followers of this young woman here. The main reason is because of her so-called "divinations", which allows her to see into the future. Me, I find such things to be complete and utter nonsense. Relying on make-believe things such as 'fortune-telling' is sure to lead you to ruin. My family and I need no things to determine our fate. We rule by making our own. And anyone who actually believes in such things is a fool and needs to wake up and start living their own lives instead of having someone tell them how to.

"Can you believe that the Prime Minister actually believes in such dribble? She even tried to get this woman to be her official soothsayer. Ha! How laughable!"

Kira Chinen

"My mother's told me of this woman. Apparently, she works for Chuohku as the Vice Chief of the Administrative Inspection Bureau. She doesn't see much of her, but apparently, she is as dedicated as any other Chuohku official, which doesn't exactly put her in a good light with us. Still, unlike the women at that place, it seems she hasn't lost her sanity or sense of character. Still, if she thinks this excuses her working for Chuohku, she is sorely mistaken."

"Ugh, and here we have the most reprehensible of these three. Unlike her older sisters, who at least have some semblance of a job and class, this one fancies herself as some sort of performer, doing parlor tricks for the whims of peasants. Ugh, how sickening. And what's more, I've heard from Miho-san that she has been seen in the company of that deplorable niece of hers and that sorry excuse for a renegade from Ueno, which only helps to further lower her in my eyes."

"So, a team comprised of siblings, much like the Yamada brothers from Ikebukuro? Several teams in this tournament include several people who are siblings. Still, it is nothing to be too worried about. From what I see, they've yet to have a single battle. And besides that, they don't seem too difficult. I'm sure with the right strategy defeating them will be easy and flawless. Although we may have some trouble with her 'sight-seeing' ability, as long as we eliminate her first, the others will be easy."
