S o. Sooo.... I'm still working through my back catalogue of Aaron Taylor Johnson films that I need to either rewatch or somehow missed. Rather than doing something productive, I decided to do a (personal) ranking for the ATJ films I have seen~ This is for the whole film combined with like, my specific enjoyment of his character in it. I'd love to hear everyone else's rankings!

And at last, the initial draft for Devotee is complete 😌 We might have gone off script for those last two chapters, and this whole thing was SUPPOSED to be like 10 chapters / 60k, b u t we at least have the initial version of the whole thing down.

And a few notes for one-shot (cough smut cough) scenes that got cut from the current version.

And now the editing can recommence (oh g a w d). BUT more importantly! .... n o w I can catch up on that last overhanging exchange, AND do something with Tangerine and Sergei my beloveds~

Hi Burnin! Thank you so much! I'm so glad you're enjoying it 💚

As far as the twins are concerned, nobody knows; it's one of the few areas that even Caracalla knows to listen to and follow Geta's lead (for the most part).

I do think their father had his suspicious about how close the two were, and that he would have blamed any small differences/any little ways that Caracalla deviated from what was 'normal' (or expected) for a man of his position, which I think would have only encouraged Caracalla's more overt promiscuous side - particularly with women while their father was alive - in an attempt to try and win his father's approval, and almost to protect Geta from any lingering risk that would come from angering their father and being in close proximity.

For Geta, I think he would have been so focused on appearing as perfect to try and deflect any attention from Caracalla and to protect him as best he could - which would have led to its own set of problems.

I do think though, as careful as Caracalla and Geta think they are, men in their position may have a habit of forgetting just how closely they ae watched at times - particularly by those who face into the background or they may overlook completely.

When it comes to Devotee, are the twins have constant pregnancies that they have to deal with?

Thank you for the ask. I’ll preface with pregnancy related topics being one of the few areas I widely avoid writing, so it’s not a spoiler to say pregnancies aren’t something that will feature on the final stretch.

As a headcanon, I think Caracalla errs towards men more than women, and when he does lay with women, someone from the senate (cough Macrinus cough) or a loyal member of the household thinking they were helping, would quietly arrange for any tonics to ensure that none of the pregnancies would take or that there would be no risk of something developing after a night together.

For Geta… I lowkey think that man pulls out. Like, he is responsible. He knows his duty to Rome. He knows he is shouldering the burden of two emperors in a way, with how much he must cover for Caracalla at times. I think he would be quite careful to try and reserve such things - and the risk they could pose to succession for the throne - until he was arranged to be wed. Theeeen he’s gonna be ensuring any offspring are legitimate first, before potentially loosening his stance on such things.

I do think Geta would be suspicious Caracalla doesn’t have a dozen little Callas running around, considering how promiscuous he is. But I wonder if he might write it off as a side-affect of whatever affliction is ailing his brother?
