OVERTALE’S BACK!!!

After a semester of gruelling senior work, overcoming senioritis, and more importantly to you all, an unannounced hiatus, KK here to give you an update on what’s going on in the wonderful little world of Overtale. (which on a side note I still regret naming it that as it gets confused with other AU’s but too late to change it now ;;;;)

As you can probably tell We’re coming back!!! but as I reeeeeally don’t want to clutter your dashboards (since honestly unannounced long posts irritate me) The majority of the info is below the cut!

But for those only sticking around long enough to read this part, thank you for sticking with this blog through this long hiatus! ^^;;

We’e got a few changes happening so I’d like you all to know what exactly is going on through it all, so without further ado.....

Schedule Changes!!!

As I’m still in highschool and also prepping for college rather than once a week Overtale will be updating every 2 weeks on Sundays at 5pm EST starting today January 28th. Although there may be a few sporadically spaced updates here and there if I have the time, such as how next week I’ll be wrapping up the prologue rather than just nothing, s keep an eye out, maybe turn on notifications too!

As for the next two weeks in one week I’ll be finishing the prologue as I just said, and the next week the comic itself will be wrapping up chapter 2 since there is literally a page or two left of it.

Format Changes!!!

In total honesty I could not keep up with the comic pages as I had to come up with a format and placement, then I’d draw manually on paper, scan it in, clean up the lines, make it transparent, fill in the colors, add in text, and finally any special effects if I needed them. Along with studying and maintaining a social life and a few other blogs, it was honestly too much, so!!! I shall be updating in another format which won’t a) eat all my time up so I can get more content out to you all faster and b) won’t degrade my art quality either (Compared to the art you’ve seen I’m actually much better, check out @kkmcarty​ under the tag “#KK’s art” and you’ll get the idea).

But the format is going to go a little something like this:

beneath each image will be dialogue between the characters such as: William: Frisk are you sure this is a good idea? * You nod, after all it’s your only choice William: Goodness... I really hope you know what you’re getting into.... and so forth!

this format will help allow me to get more out to you all more quickly and I’m glad a friend recommended it to me or I wouldn’t have continued this story in all honesty.

[NOTE: The format changes will be taking place starting in chapter 3, the end of chapter 2 will still be in comic format!!!]

Asks are a thing!!!

While before I attempted to do this in a comic type format, I MIGHT (emphasis on might) bring them back in comic format, but for now, they will be open in general to a list of available characters as listed on the ask page, as well as me myself, and for the most part they’ll be answered in text format, and if you asked a character there will be reaction images as well.

For the most part asks are open to explore lore which I will not be able to get to in comic, and believe me there is a LOT of lore there that unfortunately will not get explored <:/ any asks go of course, but If there are spoilers I probably won’t answer them directly. Though you never know the characters might be a liiittle more receptive since they don’t know their own narrative

And finally.......

Blog renovations!!!!

Over the next two weeks this blog will be undergoing minor renovation, mostly for desktop so mobile users there’s no need to worry. I don’t have a full list of what will or will not be changed, but I can guarantee that I’ll be making all the blog pages accessible to mobile users for certain!!!

That’s bout it for changes!!! for those of you who stuck it out and read through this or as still reading the comic thank you so much for your support, I honestly did not want to let this comic be another dead thing that never got finished and I’m glad to have it up and running once more, and it’s all thanks to you lovely people who, despite the long hiatus and deadness of the blog, have stayed following or followed in the hopes it would continue.

So thank you all again, and I hope you have a wonderful rest of the day wherever in the world you are.

Short Hiatus

Sorry I completely forgot that for the next two weeks starting tomorrow I’ll be participating in Undersoul Academy and as such I’ll have no time whatsoever to be able to draw the new pages so I apologize but there’s going to a mini hiatus for the next few weeks sorry again... normally I would’ve queued some stuff up but it took all week just to finish the interactive page...

PSA

Alright quick psa, Overtale will be returning on April 29th! This update will include the conclusion of chapter 1, a prologue so that people actually have a general idea of what the premise of this AU is, the title page for chapter 2, and the introductory pages of that chapter! In other news, this blog page will be undergoing some remodeling up until then which will only apply to those reading on a computer, mobile will not be affected. Finally, as the mun of determination-saved now refuses to speak to me for a reason I do not know, the asks for Adie and K will be reset back to the initial start, in other words those posts will be deleted and in honor of Chapter 2, new people to chat with will become available, and Adie and K will return at Chapter 3. Thanks for reading everyone! Sorry about the massive hiatus as well, junior year is stressful, but I have finally learned to manage my piles of schoolwork and my art :D so thank you to everyone who's stuck with me through the hiatus!

Next Arc

Alright, after the next post chapter 1 will be over and you have two choices, either I can add a prologue esque chapter, which details the war between monsters and humans here OR we can continue to chapter 2 Note if we go to Chapter 2 Adie and K will no longer be available for asks and it will switch to two new characters, but if we go to the prologuey thingy they’ll stay. So, what do you all think?

Expect a LOT of Updates! :D

alright quick thing, sorry for the 3 week hiatus, I was only getting about 3 hours of sleep those entire three weeks, as well as excessive stress from schoolwork, but that aside, It’s now summer!!!! :D

And because it’s summer, expect 8 pages of prologue and 2 partially animated pages of chapter two tomorrow, as well as an interactive page sometime this week!
