Let it be known, my main opinion about ao3 has been that it isn’t struggling, because they are capable of investing in stocks during an economic pandemic, which is proof of a lack of struggle. The argument that fancontent, including fanfics, should make money is an entirely different topic not wholly dependent on ao3, which is not the only place fancontent is posted.
