Starmaker Ent CEO Han Goeun Talks About Debuting The Company’s First Boy Group Later This Summer + Possible Trainees Speculated By Fans

Starmaker Entertainment has a busy year in 2019, but apparently that isn’t stopping Goeun from wanting to do more.

“I want to expand our family,” Goeun says, “It’s part of a little project to grow our audience. I’ve been planning on doing this for god knows how long, I want more people to come listen and reciognize our groups.”

Fans have already started speculating which trainees they think will make it into the group, and three in particular have been reoccurring. The three fans are holding onto are Daniel Seo, Kwon Baek-han, and Kim Sang-woo, they’ve been popular trainees for a while and it’s clear everyone is rooting for them to be in this group.

SOLAR Members Min and Leda Seen Seemingly Avoiding Each Other During Schedules; Fans Speculate Behind The Scenes Beef

Maybe your idols aren’t as close as they appear, during promotions of their latest title track MILKY WAY, SOLAR appeared on a variety show where two members, Min, the leader, and Leda, the main vocalist, were seen avoiding each other’s eye and not speaking to each other. The other members spoke to each of them fine, leading FLARES to believe that there could be some fighting going on behind the scenes with these two.

Neither SOLAR or Starmaker Entertainment have spoken out on this issue, leading some to believe fans may be overreacting about the situation. What do you think? Is this a case of fans looking too far into things or do you think it’s possible something is going on behind the scenes with these two and possibly the rest of SOLAR?

Fruit Basket End Their Contract With Starmaker Entertainment, Saying “It’s Very Likely That We’ll Disband”

Starmaker Entertainment put out a statement today explaining their girl group Fruit Basket’s status as of now.

“Hello, this is Starmaker Entertainment.

As of yesterday, Fruit Basket and the SMK staff came to the conclusion that their contracts would not be renewed, and they will also be parting ways with the company. Please support them if they decide to continue activities with another company.”

The members of Fruit Basket have spoken out about this too, and they’ve said that they hope the fans will still support them through this time.

“It’s likely that we’ll disband. We haven’t been happy lately and would all rather do our own thing.

“SMK would also like you all to know that this was all a joke and to be prepared for our May comeback.”

Fruit Basket’s Sooyoung and Areum Discuss The Group’s Plans For The Year Through Vlive

Late last night, Sooyoung and Areum started a Vlive to talk to their fans and update them on what’s been going on lately, since they’ve been MIA for nearly three months. Areum explained that Fruit Basket took an extended break for the holidays, and now they were back and working on new stuff that would be up within the first half of 2020.

Sooyoung mentioned that their company, Starmaker Entertainment, was giving them a little more creative freedom this year, and her and Areum had been working on producing their own music. When these would be released was never said, but Areum did say that they were planning a comeback sometime around late spring. Fans have been speculating sometime around their 4 year anniversary, May 16.

With a spring comeback and possible solo debuts from two out of four members, this year is bound to be one to remember for Fruit Basket.

Lai And Fruit Basket’s Areum Confirm Their Relationship

After the rumour that came out over a week ago about these two, they’ve been in the public eye a lot within that time. Many people supported their relationship, while there were a few others that didn’t approve. This didn’t seem to bother the two, though.

A Twitter thread made by a fan by the name of Yewon went viral on December 11th. It mentioned that she was at his fan meeting and her and her friend were saying hi to him, and her friend asked how his relationship with Areum was going. He started to answer and then hesitated.

After this went viral, the couple decided to just confirm that they were actually dating. Starmaker Entertainment has also spoken out, and confirmed it also. None of the artists under SMKE are on a dating ban, so this has no affect on the future of their careers.

Starmaker Entertainment Reveals More About The Identity Of New Solo Artist Set To Debut Next Month

Within the past month, we haven’t seen a lot of activity from SMKE artists, besides Fruit Basket who are wrapping up their Witchcraft promotions. There’s been a reason for this inactivity, however.

It’s been speculated by fans that SMKE has been planning to debut a new solo artist for a while now, especially considering their last, Chae, debuted in 2013. This was confirmed by SMKE, and solidified when just yesterday a mysterious instagram account by the name of @/elijahhwang_ was opened.

Not much has been posted yet, but a few selfies have been uploaded, and teaser images for his debut which is in ten days currently.

His identity is still mostly a mystery. All the information we have about him is his stage name, Lai, and his birth name, which is assumed to be Elijah Hwang based on his username.

Not much else has been revealed about his debut just yet, but we’re sure that in the ten days leading up to it, we’ll learn more about Lai’s debut, and hopefully Lai himself.

Lai Reportedly In a Relationship With Fruit Basket’s Areum

Lai just debuted yesterday and he’s already being involved in a dating rumour! Labelmate Areum of Fruit Basket released a dance cover of Lai’s debut title, Young And Foolish, and this got fans wondering about their friendship.

Fans went searching for clues, and began noticing that they seemed to be in the same places at the same times. Areum even posted a few pictures of her going on dinner dates with someone who she never specified, and Lai posted multiple pictures that he claimed to be taken “by his best friend”.

For now this is all speculation, nothing has been confirmed by the two individuals, and their company, Starmaker Entertainment hasn’t spoken out yet either.

Fruit Basket’s Sooyoung Comes Out As Bisexual

Lee Sooyoung is the centre and main rapper of the popular girl group, Fruit Basket. In the past, they’ve openly showed support for the lgbtq+ community. Ahn Chaewon, or better known as Chae, is a solo artist from the same company, Starmaker Entertainment, who is well known for being one of the only openly lesbian solo artists.

During SMKE’s Annual Summer Concert, the Fruit Basket girls did a speech about pride month, because it’s an important topic, and this lead to Sooyoung’s eventual coming out.

“The industry can be a scary place sometimes, especially for queer idols, but smke has been a safe space for us. Look at Chae, she’s openly lesbian, and one of the most popular solo artists right now. Your sexual orientation or gender identity shouldn’t matter, it doesn’t make who you are, and you shouldn’t get hate because of it. Fruit Basket are popular right now, and I hope that one of the members being bisexual doesn’t change that.” - Sooyoung, during the concert speech.

She’s said that it’s okay if she gets hate, it’s bound to happen, but someone’s sexual orientation is not a valid reason to hate them. She hopes that she can inspire more closeted idols to come out in the near future.
