Taking a deep breath, she starts the vLIVE and leans back, bringing the camera closer to her. Peering down at the chat, she smiles slowly as she notices the wave of BLINKs saying ‘hi!’, ‘you look so pretty’ and other nice comments in all languages.

“Hey, guys,” she greets in Korean first and then English, waving to the camera. “We’ll wait a few more seconds so more people can come.” She pushes her bangs out of her eyes, trying to keep up with the comments. After a few seconds, she’s satisfied and says, “OK, hey guys,” she waves again. “Sorry it’s late, I wanted to do it earlier but ...” She shrugged, “Schedules call.”

Her eyes squint to read a comment, “Give us a hint on what Cider is like. Um,” her nose scrunches as she looks off to the side of the camera before looking back. “So, it’s kind of different than what BLACKPINK’s songs are like.” She hesitates before continuing, “It’s ... I think it shows a different side of me, kind of ... Ah, how do I say this? Confrontational, but I love it, and so I hope you guys do, too.” She nods her head, smiling slightly.

“Are you planning on dying your hair?” Nari laughs at the question and shakes her head, “No! It needs to heal for a while so it’s staying brown.” She giggles again, “But, everyone ... You guys are always talking about my forehead, right?” She watches the comments explode with an agreement and smiles, “My bangs will be mostly pinned back for my debut, and I think we’re going to try and grow them out.” She leans her head down, shaking her hair out to where her bangs show, “They don’t look the best, because I haven’t been trimming them but yeah, they’ve grown out.” She laughs, “I can barely see.” She pushes her bangs back away from her forehead.

“Sneak peek!” She reads outloud and shakes her head, smiling. “No, you can wait until the seventh!” Nari then reads, “Where are you? Yah, didn’t you see the fansite pictures?” She giggles, “Kidding, kidding. The girls and I are in Tokyo for our concert on the fourth. Oh! Who is all coming to the concert?” She waits a few seconds before smiling again, nodding her head and switches to Japanese. “Cool, I hope you guys all enjoy! I can’t wait to see you all.”

“Speak English please,” she reads in English and laughs a little. “OK, OK, I will. I can’t forget about international BLINKs.” She reads another comment in English and tries to stifle a laugh as she repeats it, “Nari, your English is so good. I’d hope so, I was born in America.” She sighs quietly then, focusing on the chat and switches back to Korean quickly, “Where are the other girls? Um, I think Jisoo-unnie is sleeping already, Rosé-unnie might be settling down to sleep. Jennie and Lisa are probably taking a shower right now-- separately,” she adds quickly, laughing a bit. “I took one earlier.”

Nari rubs her eyes, blinking before looking back to the chat, repeating a comment outloud, “What’s your favorite movie? Um ... recently we watched Doctor Sleep, and I really liked it so probably that one.” Her phone vibrated on the bed next to her and she peered over it, her lips forming into a smile before she looked back at the camera. “Have you eaten today? Yes, actually, I ate breakfast with the girls-- it was a fried egg sandwich, and then ...” She trails off, her face forming into a thoughtful look. “I don’t remember eating lunch but I did have a snack around that time while we were on the plane, so ... Yeah. But I did eat dinner, Miso Soup. It was good.”

She runs her hand through her hair, smoothing the tangles out before sighing, glancing away from the camera again. She cracks her knuckles and leans forward, staring into the camera. “OK, guys, I think it’s time for me to go to bed! We have a long day tomorrow before the concert, and I don’t want to be tired all day.” She giggles, “Thank you for joining me, have a good day slash night! Love you BLINKs,” she blows an air kiss towards the camera before she reaches over to turn it off.

Seoul’s summer was hot this year, and Nari was fucking dying.

(Not actually, sadly. But she wanted to. It would be better than suffering in the heat.)

Jennie whined in frustration, fanning herself with her hand, “I’m dying!”

“I wish I was,” Nari grumbled, voicing her thoughts.

“I second that,” Lisa sighed, laying on her stomach, face pressed against the tiled floor.

“I third that,” Chaeyoung mumbled from her place beside Nari, tying her hair up higher than it had been.

“I fourth that,” Jisoo chimed in, back resting against the wall. “Why don’t we go downstairs and demand they give us fans?”

“It’s almost two in the morning,” Lisa said, looking at the clock on the wall.

“Um, and? They’re probably awake and dying like we are,” Jennie sat up, putting her hair on the couch so it wouldn’t touch her neck.

“No, they’re probably sleeping because they actually have freakin’ fans,” Chaeyoung huffed, the hot weather making her uneasy and frustrated quickly.

“Stupid hoes,” Nari mumbled, closing her eyes before opening them back up as she got an idea, “Do you guys mind if I take off my shirt? I swear I’m actually wearing a bra this time.”

Jisoo giggled quietly as Lisa smirked, lifting her head from the floor, “We wouldn’t mind even if you weren’t.”

Nari laughed loudly, quickly lifting her shirt over her head, leaving her in a bra and sleeping shorts.

“Wait a minute, why were you even wearing a bra at night?” Jennie looked incredulous, “As soon as we get home, I literally tear mine off.”

“Literally? Is that why you had to buy like five new ones the other day?” Jisoo snickered.

Chaeyoung sighed at their antics, but Nari could see the small smile on her face. “Alright, enough,” she lifted herself up into a standing position, “I have an idea. I’m going to get my guitar--”

“And smash it over our heads?” Jennie said in a hopeful tone. Nari held out a hand and Jennie high-fived her.

“No!” Chaeyoung laughed breathily. “I’m gonna play songs, and hopefully it’ll get our minds off of the heat.”

“I dunno how that’d work but I’m willing to try anything, that’s how desperate I am,” Lisa sat up.

“Mm, I’m up for it!” Jisoo smiled, clapping her hands together once. Nari giggled at how cute the eldest was.

“Not as good as smashing it over our heads, but okay,” Jennie shrugged.

“Nari?” Chaeyoung looked to the youngest who smiled softly.

“Of course. I always want to hear you play,” Nari said.

Chaeyoung smiled brightly, and Nari shuffled uneasily as she watched Chaeyoung walk out the room, her cheeks suspiciously pink. Nari looked to the other three, and luckily, none of them were paying attention.

“God, I really want Pringles right now,” Jisoo pouted.

”We have some in the cabinets,” Lisa nodded her head towards the kitchen.

“But they’re 150 calories,” Jisoo sighed.

“Oh,” Lisa frowned, looking around awkwardly as her fingers tapped on the floor.

“I’m sure one Pringles can won’t make a difference,” Jennie said, a small smile on her lips. “It’ll be fine.”

“Are you sure?” Jisoo looked uneasy.

Nari poked her with her foot, “We’re sure. As long as you share.”

Jisoo stuck her tongue out, getting up to walk to the kitchen, “We’ll see, brat.”

“What’s she getting?” Chaeyoung came back, guitar in her hands.

“Pringles,” Lisa answered, clapping her hands. “What song are you going to play?”

“Hm ...” Chaeyoung pondered, “I don’t know, I want a song we all know.”

“Lost Stars!” Jisoo cheered as she skipped out of the kitchen, a Pringles can in hand. Nari figured the snack probably made her happier than she was earlier.

“You know that song?” Nari looked away from Chaeyoung, raising an eyebrow.

Jisoo pouted, “Some of it! But you guys can sing, mostly and I’ll just do the parts I know.”

“We can do Sure Thing,” Jennie said, holding her hair up and accepting a hair tie from Lisa. “We’ve practiced it so much that we know it by heart.”

“I don’t know how to do it on guitar, though,” Chaeyoung jutted her bottom lip out.

“Hey, what about Come Back Home?” Lisa offered, leaning on her elbows and looking in between the girls. The other four looked to one another, smiling before nodding in agreement.

“Wait, let’s record it!” Nari stood up, placing her phone against the wall, where it could get all of them in it as Lisa and Jisoo scooted closer to the other three. She switched it to camera, starting the timer.

“We look so bad right now, though,” Chaeyoung laughed.

“It’s not like we’ll show anyone, I just want it for memories,” Nari shrugged, sitting back in her spot in between Jennie and Chaeyoung.

“One, two, three ...” Chaeyoung strummed her guitar.

The whole time the four girls sung, Nari was smiling. They were the girls she wanted to spend the rest of her life with.

“The many days that are unfinished, it seems like they’ll be waiting for us,” Chaeyoung sung softly and Nari glanced at the older girl out the corner of her eye. Chaeyoung caught her eye and smiled, making Nari smile back.

When Chaeyoung stopped strumming, the girls sat in silence before Nari crawled to her phone, smiling one last time at the camera before turning it off.

“I think it’s hotter now than when we began,” Lisa said and after a moment of looking at one another, the five best friends bursted into loud laughter.
