some thoughts (and photos) from a sinnerista who saw him (+ others) yesterday at the us open!
1. in person, you can really tell the difference between the playing styles of each player— there's a difference in how each player hits the ball and moves that becomes a palatable feeling. in person, jannik's play style is truly like a symphony. the way he hits the ball esp is so smooth and you can feel it (esp when comparing it to people like zv*rev (the way he even hits the ball feels angrier and less refined). and the way he moves feels earned but effortless (those damn ski ankles)
2. he's so endearing in real life. the way he plays is one thing. but the way he interacts with others makes you want to keep watching. his interactions with djokovic, comesaña, carlos, and darren + vagno, but also his interactions with the fans. there were some players that left straight after they practiced (i wont name names) but jannik (and novak) were there trying to go down the stands and sign almost every single thing the kids pushed at them (which is another 💀 in itself). i was trying to take videos of him signing everything and my camera ran out of storage bc that's how long he was there.
3. you don't really realize how young the players are until you see them in person. seeing janni was eye opening in that in reminded me that he was just a guy who's almost the same age as me. in person, he feels more real—and you can feel his charisma. he feels like someone i would just see on my college campus— he's truly just A Guy™. but seeing coco really threw me for a loop bc she's ACTUALLY my age and it made me rethink life 💀
overall, it was an amazing experience and jannik sinner you have my whole heart ☹️ i will cheer you on for the rest of my days, because you deserve it as a person and as a player. i was lucky enough to see you in person, and it's an experience i'll hold close to my heart for a long long time <3

1 - 4: janni playing !!! i have soooo many photos/bursts/videos of him, but i tried to narrow down my additions to only a few
5: carlos and janni! their interaction when janni first walked out was so cute and was all smiley: ☺️. the way both of them made sure to say hi to all parts of the other's coaching staff.
6: novak and janni! never beating the father and son allegations (in reference to point 1, the way they both hit the ball felt sooooo similar)

9: chose to add one of his rally with francisco! he def looks much better (health wise) in comparison to monday and god im so excited to see him play soon :(
