As some of you may not know, I’m a mother of a beautiful handsome baby boy named Laine. He was born prematurely at 35 weeks & 6 days, the reason being I had a placenta abruptio, causing me to bleed, especially when the doctor would lift his head up inside me. I then had an emergency c- section, my baby was born July 10th 2017 at 4:22 am, weighing at 4 lbs and 11 oz. He wasnt breathing when they first pulled him out so they had to do cpr and give him oxygen to help him breath on his own, once he began breathing on his own, he has hyperthermia and they had to check his kidneys. He has to constantly be wrapped up until his temperature was under control as well as his kidneys. Since he was so little he didn’t pass his car seat test until he gained more weight and was a littler older about a month or so. in the hospital they give a hearing test to make sure your baby can hear. Laine didn’t pass, we all thought; “ well he is a preemie he should grow out of it .” Couple weeks later he went back to do the test again, he failed. He was then referred to a higher doctor to figure out if he needs hearing aids after their two hour test. Come to find out, Laine has mild hearing loss, he wears hearing aids in both ears and is currently trying to figure out why he can’t hear as good like we can. he can hear, but it’s muffled sounding.
