Visited @reyaoton in the Goriska Brda region of western Slovenia. Oton was generous both with his time and wines. A bit of a one man band with a great sense of humor. As evidenced by naming some of his wines “bastard” and “orangoton”. He grows 8 types of grapes on 3.5 hectares. He produces 60% white wines and 40% red wines. He uses oak wood but from different countries and blends. He used acacia for first time this past year for his rebula. Oton produces 10,000 bottles per year. At one point he exported but now just sells within several hundred kilometers.
