Spencer’s voice over the phone was filled with anxiety. Aria frowned, wondering what had agitated her so much. “Spencer? I’m okay, my Dad just left to get us something to eat for dinner.” It was a lie, and Aria immediately felt guilty.
“You’re in Syracuse with him still?”
Aria nodded, then remembered Spencer couldn’t see her. “Yes, we’re going to an art show tomorrow.”
“Oh, I didn’t remember them having much of an art scene there.”
“It’s specific to the college my Dad is working at. There isn’t much art around otherwise. But the program looks really good, I’m thinking about it as a safety.”
“Oh yeah, that’s smart. You’ll definitely get into Oberlin though.”
“Thanks for the vote of confidence.” Aria still detected something off in Spencer’s voice, so she asked “Are you okay? Is it something with your family? Something with A?”
A pause. “I just got some more texts, one of them mentioned you so I just thought I’d make sure you were okay.” Another pause. “Did you get my voice mail?”
Now Aria was confused. She hadn’t gotten any voice mail. But she wanted to reassure Spencer. “Yes I did, but the sound quality wasn’t very good. You wanted to tell me something?” If Spencer had left her a voice mail, it would be because she wanted to tell her something later right? Spencer liked to explain things in person.
“Oh. It was nothing, I freaked out because I thought you had taken my French textbook and I need it for an exam. But you didn’t I just found it under my bed. Sorry if I scared you before.”
Aria laughed at the visual. “Even if you’d left it with me, I’m sure you’d have found a way to pass. Being a genius and all.”
“Yeah. That’s me. The Hastings second best golden girls genius. The silver girl, I guess that makes me.”
“You’re not second best to me. You’re my best friend.” It’s the truth, but Aria isn’t sure she’s said it before. That Spencer is her favorite. She feels like she’s lying so much these days that stumbling into the truth is always a revelation.
“Thanks, Aria. That means a lot. You sure you’ll be okay with your dad? I mean I know things haven’t been great with you two since… or maybe now that you not seeing Ezra anymore things are better?”
Aria debated how best to answer. She settled on, “My dad’s been more supportive recently. I’ll be fine the rest of my stay here.”
“Okay. That’s really good. Have a nice night, Aria.”
“You too, Spence.”
The line went dead. Aria did her best to ignore the gnawing guilt in her stomach, she was getting better at that. She went downstairs to where Ezra was making dinner.

1. Have you written scenes (sex or otherwise) that actually made you feel uncomfortable, and how did you deal?
I have when I used to rp write with one friend, but that's been ages ago. I don't think I really have in my fanfics yet. I will be, however, in the third part of my Scott Summers/Tony Stark series that I've got started that will involve mind-to-physical rape, and while I'm not going to write it in the fullest detail I could, it's still going to be very ick, and I will very likely need a drink or two afterward.
5. Who's the sexiest non-human character in your current fandom? (must actually diverge from human sexual characteristics - no elves or asari)
I'm probably gonna have to say JARVIS, Vision, and Howard the Duck.
9. Who/what are your inspirations for truly fucked up content?
Stephen King is a HUGE influence along with the late Ray Garton, may he rest in peace. The Hannibal series falls in there somewhere, I'm sure.
17. If you could steal one fic from any other writer and claim it as your own, what would you take?
Hands down, End of the Line by @scottxlogan. The work that went into that, the plotting, the storyline, the complex mystery of it all just blows me away.
