I like the way they're each using one arm to make it seem like an informal bro hug (with the pats on the back), but their other arms are telling a different story...

I hit post limit before, but YES. It’s hilarious how they thought patting each others’ backs would make it look more friendly and less like, hey, I’m madly in love with you. If you watched the Niall/Harry hug, THAT is a fucking bro hug. If I thought those two boys were together, that hug would have me sweatin’ because Harry actually goes in with only one arm and does the bro pat.

With Harry and Louis, first of all, they went into the hug with SO much intensity just like at the VMAs. They tried to pat each others’ backs and act normally, but because they aren’t used to it, the back patting honestly just looked awkward. Then there’s the fact that, like you said, they used their other arms to clutch each other…and finally, their faces were squished into each others’ shoulders. Sorry boys, but face squishing is not necessary when you’re hugging someone. There’s no need to press against each other that hard, but since you guys are in love and probably usually hug right before you rip each others’ clothes off, I guess I’ll let your weak (and ultimately failed) attempt at a friend hug slide.
