Bad news. Our Henry has passed away, crossing the rainbow bridge. 🌈😿 Henry was the Barky Cat, our namesake, because of his hilarious ability to make a barking/chuffing sound when he became excited. As of October 2018, he was the last of the original Barky Cat Bros. Thomas, Henry’s littermate, passed away a few months ago. We sort of expected that Henry wouldn’t be far behind—sort of like an old married couple following each otger into the great beyond. But, we are happy that we got all of the time we did. Back in October 2015, Henry stopped eating and had an e-tube installed. In May 2016, he had a permanent feeding port placed in his side, which is why he constantly wore shirts and costumes. As long as Henry remained happy and healthy—but for that whole eating thing—we were happy, too. Over the past two weeks, Henry’s health deteriorated. Rapidly. His last best day was Valentine’s Day, and we are so happy we captured adorable videos. For us, Henry was larger than life, a force of love and happiness, and the calm center of our indoor animal kingdom. He will be missed. And here is a video of our Barky Cat.
