Description: Very large and lean and longhaired with a fluffy mane of fur, she is a dark brown tabby with scars on her back and split ears and hazel eyes. She has a white belly and front paws and back legs and chest. Otter Chase got frostbitten ears and lost some bits of ear but is better now.
Personality: Though she retains her humor from her youth she has grown a gruff exterior as she has aged and become wiser and more experienced. Highly superstitious she seeks luck everywhere, however she is not hasty in action and always plans things very long before choosing a set path. Her greatest fear is in making a mistake that will harm her clan or her reputation as a level-headed and wise cat.She is a great hunter and very fast and often chooses to work with other cats to tire out and corner speedy prey. Surprisingly she is not shy of battle and is very bold in speaking her opinion, rarely backing down though she will listen to the advice of others and always consider their viewpoints before taking decisive action. She is very respectful but once you lose her respect it is hard to gain it back and only by a lot of work and proving yourself through good actions can you regain her good graces and trust. She isn't the most forgiving and never forgets a slight or bad action, and though she doesn't actively seek vengeance she always remembers such things so she can consider them when making decisions. When she has the chance the likes to just run and forget her cares for a while. She loves to wrestle and is known for having a very loud and grating laugh. --As a young cat, Chasing Otter was quite a handful. She was always running everywhere and into things, seeking adventure and fun. She had a tendency to shirk her duties or be easily distracted by daydreaming or focusing too much on her superstitions and imaginings instead of training. This landed her in trouble multiple times, and cost her a good many scrapes and bruises in the process, to both her body and her ego. After she was nearly killed saving another cat from a hawk when she accidentally led them into danger, she was badly injured and her back was scarred. Her time healing up and the realization she'd nearly died and nearly cost a Tribemate their life, impacted her greatly. Understanding now how close she'd been to losing so much, she worked hard to change her attitude and mature quicker. It took time and was a long process; sometimes she found herself slipping back into foolish ways or daydreams. But each time she grew quicker to realize her error and snap out of it, focusing instead on what was important. But soon she became too closed and focused and gruff and stopped paying attention to the fun in life, instead wearing herself down trying to be perfect. After working herself into an exhaustion and collapsing during training, she had another lesson to learn.Through a lot of effort and mulling over her mistakes, she learned to channel her enthusiasm into something useful, giving herself and upbeat drive to work hard even if she remained serious an on-task. She took the time to rest from hard duties and played with New Life and enjoyed herself too, letting herself recharge so she remained productive. She had a great desire for a family, feeling that adding to the Tribe of Mountain Song by giving it new life was an important duty. So she took a mate and had a litter which she raised with devoted care and attention and retains a very close and caring relationship with even now.As she matured and mastered her balance more, she delved deeper into her spirituality and began to see everything as possible sign and a signal of guidance. She took things slower and meditated carefully on the way she wanted her life to proceed and how these signs she felt she saw might aid her in figuring that out. She developed a greater leadership skill and took charge more and more, volunteering for all sorts of tasks from the menial to the important, so she tasted every aspect of work and life within the Tribe. Once she had walked in as many pawsteps as possible, and learned how to center herself, she found her balance and who she was.
