We’re thrilled that four #MTAArts commissioned graphic artworks and their animations were selected for the Society of Illustrators Annual exhibition and Annual Book publication #Illustrators62. Congratulations to Jasu Hu, Dan Funderburgh, Otto Steininger and Dola Sun!
Congratulations to James Gulliver Hancock and Otto Steininger for being selected for the 38th annual American Illustration winners!
James Gulliver Hancock’s illustration was translated into ceramic mosaic and handmade ceramic tile by Miotto Mosaics and Frank Giorgini for “Connecting Cultivating Communities” (2018) at the LIRR Merrick station, while Otto Steininger’s “MTA Universe” 2018 art card appears in subway cars all over NYC.
New art cards have started to appear in subway cars across the city! In Otto Steininger’s “MTA Universe” the subway travels through the galaxy of New York City with playful destinations like Coney Island at the forefront of the imagined space ship’s journey.
It’s an Honor! Artwork by Dan Funderburgh, James Yang and Otto Steininger, commissioned by MTA Arts & Design, is being honored by the Society of Illustrators for their Illustrators 61 Exhibit, opening tonight, January 11!
