Meet Rocky (You Got Me Rocking) - Sim’s 15.1hh 2008 Gelding by Chateau Istana

Rocky was too slow to make it to the track, he trialled, but never raced. I was on the hunt for a new horse in late December 2012 after handing back my brilliant least horse, Que who was a welsh cob sec D. After seeing Sam and Gull compete at a few thoroughbred comps I decided I wanted to go back to thoroughbreds! That’s when I met Rocky. 

Rocky was only 4, very chilled out and was ready to take on the world! Rocky is more of an all-rounder than Gulliver. Rocky & I can be spotted in the show ring, dressage arena, jumping and even doing the odd horse trials! 

Highlight so far... Placing in the HRCAV Top 10 Showing 2013/14 and being in the winning team for HRCAV TTT Combined Training 2014! We are currently level 1 HRCAV showing, level 2 dressage, level 3 SJ & CT and level 4 HT. Love my little TB allrounder! 😘

Meet Gulliver (Rahy Light) - Sam’s 15.3hh 2006 Gelding by Fantastic Light.

  Gulliver finished racing in December 2010 after a dismal record of 3rd last, 2nd last & 2nd last and came to us early the next year. 

Gulliver & I started our partnership in June 2011 after I had 10 years away from riding. I came back into it not reaaallllyyy knowing what I was doing. I rode from when I was a baby until about 16, but looking back now, realise that my 16 year old brain could never comprehend many things that I know now. Like what a half halt really is, rhythm, bend, contact, impulsion, etc, etc, etc! A cheeky fresh-off-the-track 3yo chestnut thoroughbred was probably not ideal, but we have achieved so much so far and have many more goals to achieve! We are a team, even though sometimes Gulli doesn’t want to be a team player!

Gulliver took a liking to dressage and we compete regularly at HRCAV events. The highlight, so far, was in 2013 when we placed 9th in the HRCAV Top 10 Dressage for the 2012/13 year out of EVERYONE in the HRCAV. We started in level 4 HRCAV and have progressed to level 1 :) Now to start trying to do flying changes (again.... I have tried several times to no avail) so that we will be able to do advanced one day.
