“Oi!” Sirius called out as he made his way into the Common Room, slipping his satchel from around his body to place on the floor. “How much you want to bet that Loopy Lupin kid’s got a hairy secret?” He asked with his eyes wide -- he knew how much the Gryffindor’s friends bothered Severus and was offering a bit of payback.

He held out a book to a page he had it on, it contained descriptions of lycanthropy.

Sirius didn’t know what it was, but the tone of Severus’ voice coupled with the way he was looking at Sirius just put him on edge. Especially after all that had happened, and most especially since he knew (courtesy of James via Lily) that Snape was mixing with the Dark Arts in increasingly dangerous ways.

“Are you threatening me?” He asked, his icy gaze upon the other boy, his jaw set. If a fight was what Snape was looking for, a fight was what he was going to get.
