Incredibly urgent information found in post-campaign. This is the Lost Ghosts quest from Micah-10. This one is "Oracle" and happens on Nessus. The quest from Micah is about finding various Ghosts that got lost during missions on locations. For the one in Oracle, you had to run Insight Terminus strike to find data.
Running Insight Terminus here is confirmed as canon! Kargen we fight is apparently a clone! More importantly, this reveals a few pieces of information that I am completely and totally normal about.
First, Kargen's clone is once again looking for OXA and OXA is canonically confirmed to be similar, if not the same (!) to the Device of the Future War Cult.
Second, Otzot is the one who ordered this and the order is recent. Otzot is, with this, confirmed to be alive and active. She is also in a faction NOT loyal to the Witness. Otzot is also apparently interested in Sol Divisive's information on the Veil. I am thoroughly losing my mind about this. Ghost is also confused about how these things connect and I'm LOSING IT again because I talked about this well over a year ago in this post, and recently in this one. Prediction machines, Vex technology and the Veil have something going on together, I agree Ghost. I am obsessed with this.
And third, the interference is confirmed to be from Maya Sundaresh which also further confirms her involvement in the Echoes. It has to. I've already speculated on the Echoes image we can see in game as the mysterious figure being some form of Maya/Vex Maya/her simulation, but this confirms it. I've never been more normal than I am now.
Transcript of the video below:
I've been thinking about this all week. There are a lot of threads and puzzle pieces floating around in my head, but I can't put them together in a satisfying way.
The most likely scenario I have is this:
The OXA machine is likely derived from Vex influence, like the Device created by Ishtar. That would explain how the Vex have data on it in the first place and why both machines are practically identical. The Vex are pervasive, so it's likely that the Psions have encountered them while they were free, or Otzot used Vex tech when they rebuilt it after its destruction after their enslavement. Using the OXA machine to guide them and the Sol Divisive's research, Otzot seeks to reverse-engineer the mind-melding technology used by the Witness (successful attempt) and Maya (failed attempt) to become a God-Thought, a term used by Psions (or at least a Psion under Caiatl) when referring to powerful psychic leaders. We already know Psions are capable of merging minds and even bodies. Tazaroc, Niruul, and Ozletc did this when they formed Inotam during the Season of the Dawn, using an "ancient technique."
This makes the most sense, but I feel like there are holes that I can't see. Either way, Micah's Ghost missions are pulling loose threads and using them to start weaving a tapestry. I'm excited!

Did we ever learn whi "Otzot" is from the insight terminus strike? I always assumed it was a codename Osiris used but don't actually know
Otzot is a Psion Flayer! Also called Freeborn Otzot. She was a genuis scientist who recreated the OXA machine for which Calus had her in his circle and freed her. She was the only freed Psion, hence "Freeborn." Otzot participated in the Midnight Coup which overthrew Calus, because he wanted to free all Psions and she didn't like losing her unique status. Most of the information about her is in the vanilla D2 collector's edition booklet.
Otzot:
We have no clue if she's still alive. I believe she is and that we may get to her if they ever decide to deal with the Psion stuff. We know a lot of the Psions split off from both Caiatl and Calus, led by Yirix, who now leads the Psion Conclave. Yirix and her Psions were the ones who made the prophecies we saw in Vox Obscura mission.
❝ I don’t work for or with anyone. Eventually they let you down. ❞ / otzot to pellaeon
Gazing at the active holo of "Freeborn" Otzot, Captain Pellaeon watched the alien carefully, gauging, measuring. As a captain within the Imperial Navy, he had certain biases against non-humans, this creature included. But over the past several days, he'd witnessed this "psion's" ability, and the power of the technology they wielded. Though he would consider this Otzot and their forces to be "clever pirate dregs", this unique faction had proven efficient and lethal in ambushing their smaller ships.
Grand Admiral Thrawn had been given quite the exercise in his skill and Pellaeon couldn't help but appreciate the tactical genius it would require to keep up with the Grand Admiral, let alone match him. But now they were at a standstill, assessing how long this game would last and the cost of continuing it on both sides. For his part, Pellaeon could see the potential that would be unlocked with their cooperation, and now it was his task to gain that cooperation.
"Hmm. I won't deny that working with us may sport the risk of disappointment," the old captain admitted briskly, his hands clasped behind his back.
"But that is a risk one must take with every alliance we make. So, the choice I see is thus; on one hand, you may reject our proposal and continue as an independent space force, one that would qualify as piracy by most of the galaxy at large. One whom we would have to contend with and eliminate at a future point. On the other hand, accepting our offer and joining Grand Admiral Thrawn after would grant both our sides a boon from the unnecessary destruction of military forces, the additional tactical advantage against other adversaries, and the opportunity to spar and work with minds at the level of your own."
The captain straightened, gazing cooly yet with quiet confidence at the Psion hologram. "The offer is open to you, Otzot Freeborn," he said with a gracious motion of his hand before returning it behind him. "I look forward to your response."
