So it was like 1 am and I had this idea for an AU where Calus is the actual son of the previous Cabal empress (not adopted nor a slave) and is exiled as a child on the same ship as his mother, but she sends him off as far away from Torobatl as possible so that he may one day reclaim the throne (à la Moses, y'know?)

The airship crashes, the crew dies on impact and baby Calus is found by none other than Oryx, Savathûn and Xivu Arath, who promptly decide to keep him in for Reasons™ and raise him as a Hive, giving him a Hive name, teaching him the Sword Logic, providing him with a Hive-coded armor and so on

The cluo scene happens when teenager Calus ends up fighting against Umun'arath and her recognizing him as the exiled prince who everybody held onto hope was still alive to overthrow the Praetorate

Of course Umun tries to drag him back to Torobatl, but Calus protests and exclaims: "I'm not a Cabal, I'm a Hive!" (very reminding of that one scene in Princess Mononoke, if you get what I mean)

Bonus points if Calus addresses Oryx, Savathûn and Xivu as "big sister/brother" and Oryx is very conflicted about this in an endearing kind of way
