SO, random but I've gone in and done what will hopefully be the last major redesigns for the protagonists of Once Upon An Adventure. Ideally. I wanted to post it here and ask, what do you all think? Do they look weird, do they look nice? I'm sensitive, but do be honest

Of particular interest, I'll just be honest, is does Skye's hair look good. With that lock ponytail thing???

I'll probably just go with my gut for most designs but these are the 4 playable characters so I am curious if people think the designs just straight up suck lmao

but also would you like them if they were redrawn as sprites like, this big?

Hoping to get back to Once Upon An Adventure soon. The ideas are starting to come back to me slowly. I've been toying around with potential redesigns for a bit but ultimately I think it's for the best that I keep them simple. Here's some slight potential touch ups to the heroes.

I’m pretty sold on Scraps’ new scarf. Before it was just a rope around his neck but I think this looks way cuter. I’m not 100% on how I want to draw Lemon’s cloak but I’m getting there. And Skye is pretty much perfect though I’m not sure how I want to color his clothes. His shirt has been black for YEARS but this white shirt looks kinda cute with the pink I think.

Just a couple hours until I'm finally in 2022 with the rest of you! Here's one final goodbye to 2021 with the main characters of Once Upon An Adventure! Hopefully I'll have a lot to show of their game this year! Keep safe, everyone, and let's make 2022 great!

For anyone curious, I’ve been working a lot on Once Upon An Adventure the past few days! I recently figured out how to make the rooms and buildings in the game look MUCH nicer by actually hand drawing each room instead of making it with tiles. It’s a bit of a challenge but I’ve already got 3 (out of like, a bajillion) done! Also I’ve been testing some logo stuff. And while I’m not sold on that title screen design I kind of LOVE the way the actual logo looks (the orange version)

There’s still tons of work to do, and of course this game is NOT meant to be the next indie mega hit. But I hope if I can keep the pace up and the scope down I will be able to release the game much sooner than I originally expected! Which is neat!

Some new rooms in Once Upon An Adventure. Please excuse all the placeholders (like the tiny chest lol). Haven’t been doing a lot of these rooms lately, and I’ve been doing some smaller things for the game. 

From here on out, rooms will be a little trickier, since they have to be more planned out. So I’ll need to make sure areas are REALLY fun and good before I finalize them with a drawing
