Hi, sorry if this has been asked and I havent seen it, but How's the re-write of LiaFt going? I read it when you first posted it and reread it again recently and was wondering! Wish you well.
It’s ok nonny!! I accept any and all asks regarding my writing lol
It’s uhhh honestly I haven’t been writing it atm :T I finished chapter... 9? 10? And have kinda been a bit stuck since >.< I also haven’t had the motivation between work, school, and other obligations in my real life ;-;
Good news is I am 1/3 done with it tho so there’s that. Bad news is that I haven’t worked on it this year at all really. I def wanna get back to it but am having some struggles
I do appreciate asks abt it tho! It reminds me to get my butt in gear and try and make some time! Lol
It was somewhat difficult living in a town where everyone knew everyone.
You couldn’t have your own privacy, or even your own thoughts, without someone trying to figure you out.
Obviously, it got old very quickly.
You found yourself constantly trying to ignore people, to get away, and for the most part it managed to work.
In Storybrooke, you were known as the quiet one, the one that no one really ever noticed, the one that kept to themselves.
That was, until, the town realised that you were in a relationship with their ever so beloved sheriff.
Graham had been your boyfriend for a little under four months, and the two of you had desperately tried to keep it under wraps but to no avail.
Ruby had noticed the two of you walking down the street holding hands one evening; since then it had spread like wildfire.
Graham didn’t mind it so much but there were times when he craved the privacy just as you did.
It wasn’t even as if it was so much to ask – just to want your own space from time to time.
Unfortunately, that never seemed to be the case in your town.
You and Graham didn’t live together, of course, but you spent a lot of time at his place.
He was yet to finish at the station but you were still walking to his house as he had given you a key.
As you were walking, Ruby popped up next to you. “Hi Y/N!”
You smiled at her. “Hi Ruby.”
“So…how’re things?” she quizzed whist she chewed her gum.
You shrugged nonchalantly. “Things are fine. How about with you?”
She rolled her eyes at you. “Oh, come on, not what I meant,” she stated. “How are things with the Sheriff?”
You shrugged once again, not wanting to answer her.
“Well...uhh…have fun then,” she stated once she realised you weren’t actually going to tell her anything.
As you waved goodbye to her, you reached Graham’s house and unlocked the front door.
You were surprised to see your boyfriend fast asleep on his sofa – his sheriff jacket over the back of the sofa, his legs dangling over the one end and a cushion under his head.
Attempting not to wake him, you made your way over to the sofa and crouched down next to him.
“Sherriff!” you yelled down his ear.
Your shouting caused your boyfriend to awake with a start and fall off of the sofa, resulting in you having fits of laughter.
When Graham eventually come to, he was still on the floor but on his front and staring at the floor.
“Remind me why I gave you a key,” he grumbled as his voice was muffled by the close proximity to the floor.
“Because I’m your girlfriend and you love me?”
He chuckled, moving to sit up properly, “You’re lucky I love you.”
You rolled your eyes, moving to crouch down in front of him again, “Oh Honey, you’re lucky to have me.”
I’m so proud of myself I actually added to liaft today and ooooooo boyyyyyy chapter 10 is halfway done!!
Only... 25 to go... it’ll just take me another 5 years riiippppppp
Also I’m gathering music up again so I may drop a playlist by the end of the year 👀
OH AND ANOTHER THING I may write a prequel to LiaFt that focuses on the gods! Would anyone be interested in reading that? It’ll be OC-heavy... but hopefully interesting! Lemme know whether or not y’all would be!
So in 2 years I have written abt... 9/35 chapters for the new LiaFt
To be fair, last year I didn’t write at all bc I feel in r bad depression and a huge funk that made me unable to write...
I’m kinda back to debating whether or not I should actually start posting again before it’s finished to see how the reception would be or if I should continue to wait...
Hm, decisions decisions all around...
Or maybe I’ll write up another lore-based one shot rather than post more LiaFt... hm hm hm...
For a second, he stood still above the congregation-like mass, his words dripping with succulent promises of prestige. His heart bled for such poor and pitiful fools, yet only for a second.
For as soon as they pulled their swords and sharpened their loyalty to him, his pity fell, and a wicked grin replaced such doubts.
Since I was asked to share my process of creating Tad Strange in LiaFt, I thought I would write a little about him!
Tad Strange is/was a popular fan character that originated from a leak. From only his name, everyone went wild with theories with who he could be (possibly another demon?) and what roll he could play in Gravity Falls.
Of course, Tad Strange came to be nothing more than a punchline, but his fanon-self lived on even after the truth came out. Such an interesting fanon character became popular in fanfiction. Oftentimes, Tad Strange was cast as an antagonist of Bill Cipher’s and could either be “good” compared to Bill, or even more “evil” than our favorite dream demon.
Seeing these ideas played out, I decided to try and do something a wee bit different when I had Tad Strange to play with. Rather than a villain, I decided to cast him as Bill’s “brother,” and his closest comrade. From there, I decided to make Tad a sort of “foil” to Bill to balance out Bill’s shenanigans.
Whereas Bill knows nothing about the world and is trigger-happy, to say the least, Tad is a lot more cautious and knowledgeable.
However, like his brother, Tad is also a master manipulator. Unlike Bill, however, Tad rarely manipulates humans and other’s unless he severely dislikes them and needs some form of information. And while Bill lies, cheats, and will get close to someone just to betray them, Tad uses his ability to read other’s emotions to his advantage and doesn’t usually go as far as Bill does. While Bill holds himself up to be this divine and powerful being, Tad is more akin to hide his power instead and use his relatability to get what he wants. That being said, Tad is weaker than Bill.
In the old version of LiaFt, magic-users tend to gravitate toward certain elemental alignments that can color a lot of their spellcasting. For example, Bill is aligned with fire. Dipper is a bit too young of a spellcaster, but he was also going to align with fire. Meanwhile, Tad gravitated toward earth instead due to his down-to-earth and cautious nature compared to Bill. A lot of his magic appeared to be earth-based for that reason. An example of this is their teleportation; Bill had a flash of fire follow him while Tad had a whirlwind of dust. Likewise, if Tad were to make a deal, rather than fire, a crusting of mud and earth would instead cover his hand and stick to the mortal’s hand during the speaking of the deal. I haven’t completely decided whether I will be moving this mechanic to the newer version... so we’ll see! Besides that, I think I covered his powers quite nicely.
I was actually surprised with how much love Tad got in LiaFt. I was afraid most wouldn’t find him too interesting or would wish he were in a different role. But the love and support for Tad really overwhelmed me! Even when he was first introduced, a lot of people immediately told me how much they liked him! From there, I knew I wanted to play around with him more and expand on him as well!
While I tried to characterize Bill as a bit of a “dreamer;” someone who lives in his own fantasy and wishes to use his powers to bring whatever he wishes to life, Tad instead wants to mold reality to his will and use everything he has at his disposal to get what he wants.
I can’t say much on his past or background; those things will be explored deeply in the rewrite of LiaFt and are also spoilers for the OUATD as a whole.
so ive thought abt turning the ouatt into an original story for a long time, just didnt say anything bc of all the fuckin drama that spouted when i was considering the idea
i have like. an actual and official post drafted for this but like..... i have so many WIPs i dont r wanna add another ;;;;;;;;;;; im actually quite torn on the subject
tho also, in my experience, a lot of ppl get bitter and angry if you mention turning an AU and already mostly original ff into like. original fiction in GENERAL
even if i dont plan on making money off it lmfao
so. yeah. idk. i dont r like leaving stuff unfinished but at the same time ive kinda moved past the ouatt and i feel like a lot of ppl have as well?? which is why i dont r feel the need to, atm, make it original
maybe one day, or if people are genuinely interested in my ideas for how to do it but. yeah. i dont count on that at all tho so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
