For one of my briefs, I had to make a comic in which each page could be read as a separate story. We were shown examples of oubapo comics as a way to give us some inspiration.

An oubapo comic is one in which there is some sort of restriction. Some oubapo comics will have unconventional panelling, some will read the same back to front, and others will have the same image in every panel.

Each page of this comic had to have six panels, have no dialogue and could have one spot colour.

Well, this thing needs a little explanation : one of my profesors challenged my friends and me to make a little comic, but with a constraint ! The constraint was... (drum roll)... to make a comic with 3 pentaminos, pieces made up of five squares.

But, changing one specific piece to another specific one, it had to change the story : you can see there is two pieces (the introduction and the one with “what a weird story” from Sans), which are in the two comics, but in different places, if we alternate the two other pieces. I don’t think I make this clear... it’s hard to explain, even in french.

Whatever, depending the pieces and their places, the story is different. 

The concept was inspired by mathematicians from OuLiPo and OuBaPo, two international organisations which are having fun creating new constraints for literature and mathematics. It’s really interesting...

Anyway, its a two-in-one comic ! Enjoy !
