phoenix canonically refers to his meeting with both lamiroir and apollo as a miracle (in both japanese and english, before presenting apollo's profile to zak, he even thinks to himself "but maybe that miracle has already occurred") -- without that miracle, he would never have known the connection between them and zak.
apollo had three thousand occasions to leave phoenix in aa4, but he never does...
they never understand each other but keep trying...and missing the mark...until the fateful moments where they most need each other, like apollo crying for phoenix's help in aa5-5 and phoenix quite literally "vow"ing to answer that call
