So happy to be able to be marching again! What started as a small surgery turned into a pretty major surgery as soon as they opened me up and saw what the MRI hadn't shown. I was honestly worried I wouldn't be able to match this year because of my hip problems, but thanks to a great doctor and an even greater God, I'm healed up and ready to go! #itsahipthing #besthipdoc #marching #oupride #boomer #sooner #boomersooner
I saw Amberleigh after official practice ended earlier this week, alone in the parking lot perfecting her moves like a dedicated performers will do. She's a member of the Pride, and one of the captains of the color guard, a title she's held for the past three years.
"I started when I was in high school. I love it. I tried out here my freshman year and I made it and I was so happy. Sophomore year I made captain, and I've been one ever since (she's a senior). I coach color guard too, at Blanchard high school."
I was tempted to ask if I could toss the flag, but I didn't want to give myself a concussion in front of a complete stranger. That would have been embarrassing.
