Our Capabilities

I die a little every time someone says to me that they "can't," it's when I say, "then try again."

Gutzon Borglum once said, "never say I can't, because the 'I can'ts' are unknown in the worlds work and are unremembered in history."  

Last night, I watched a two year old nephew of mine, sort building blocks, by shape, and then by color. I was amazed at how much a two year old can learn within such a short amount of time.

I realize that if we dedicate ourselves to the tasks before us, we can accomplish anything. When I say anything, I mean that we, as a human race, can, and will, without fail, accomplish and reach the potential within our grasp.

C.S. Lewis wrote, "We are half-hearted creatures fooling about with drink and sex and ambition when infinite joy is offered us, like an ignorant child who wants to go on making mud pies in a slum because he cannot imagine what is meant by the offer of a holiday at the sea. We are far too easily pleased."  

I believe that we, in the entirety or our human existence have only scratched the surface of an ocean of lessons. For us, like a two year old, we have much further to go, and we have only just begun.
