(Behold, that will be a wild trip of thoughts and switches between different viewing angles! Math and physics content ahead!)
I could finally understand why I have such an incredible affinity towards metaphors, analogies and speaking in pictures: It is far less abstract than the way I perceive the world and think, as my "language" is really, and literally mathematics. People tend to understand metaphors with more familiar terms better than if you try to explain like interference and highly advanced mathematical concepts and quantum mechanics. I literally can NOT think in 'normal human terms'. Where others tend to think in words or pictures, I imagine function plots, patterns, knot constructions, and, like, the full branch of math and physics.
It's really true that quantum mechanics comes natural for me. Somehow starting to indulge in the math some months ago: I was like: That actually makes really much sense!!! As others tend to become more confused. It was somehow the opposite for me. And it was baffling.
Somehow, if I remember, my passion for science, physics, mathematics ignited when I talked with a guy whose passion was physics. Somehow I told him how my mind works. The part of "When I observehmy perception or thoughts, I instantly change it." This triggered huge associations in him and he told me about the double slit experiment and such.
Some months ago, looking at the math of the double slit experiment, it was a real eureka moment, as I could finally grasp it concretely! Interference and diffraction. It's neat.
In the end, to end this "entangled" thought detour,
Who could understand chaos better if not chaos itself?
In a sense, the question where the attributes if elrmentary particles stem from, ten years ago, ended in my concept of information weaving and the "emergence of form and function" - or: elementary particles are, in a sense information geometries containing all information of all their previous interactions. Due to emergence, patterns of behavior, say, tendencies towards certain ways of interaction "solidified", the results lead to emergence of the elementary particles and their attributes, such as spin, charge, and mass - well, that one is the most interesting, as it is directly that "information knot", we call the base of matter: in a sense, interwoven spacetime - quantum foam, in John Wheeler's terms. Interestingly, that is related to information re-distribution, which is what quantum gravity is about: a kind of emergence of these tendencies of "form and function": Quantum gravity is hence the density of information - or, speaking in terms of quantum field theory: the probability intensity. These two interpretations are interestingly similar - as if they are two sides of one and the same "coin" - reffering to that idiom, I'd say that coin is actually a möbius strip.
What could a new era mean for Latin America?
Current global challenges could usher in a new era. What might this mean for Latin American economies?

I have only ever met one Banshee. She was a troubled, tragic soul. I will never forget those blood shot eyes, the tears stained onto her cheeks, the strained weak voice. The pain.
I want to dispel the uncertainty of these strangely beautiful people, as best I can, whilst also helping you all to learn about them.
- R. Latimar
The curse of the Banshee, an all female race - part of the fairy family, is that they have a close connection to death, specifically the death of others. When someone close to them is going to die soon the Banshee lets out a blood curling scream that signals the soon-to-be-deceased’s end. They cannot stop the person’s death, or even speak to them properly, only provide them this terrible warning. It is said they deliver their message by lurking beneath the windows of those who are about to die, but I have never seen or heard any evidence of this.
As I’ve already said Banshees are an all female race. They typically have either dark black hair or vibrant red hair. Something I’ve come to learn is that Banshees can be born from any natural humanoid race. There is evidence that Banshees can be Human, Elf, Dwarf, or almost any other race you can think of. One other point that might be worth mentioning is that all Banshees seem to remain indescribably beautiful and frozen in their appearance until they reach their elder years (somewhere around 70 or so). At this point the Banshee begins to age rapidly and looks more wrinkled and weathered and altogether not as nice to look at.
The first recorded cases of Banshees that I’ve been able to find come from Ireland. Banshees have a rich history in Gaelic culture, but can also be found Welsh history, being referred to as ‘Gwrach y Rhibyn’. It come as no surprise then that Banshees originate from Ireland and The United Kingdom and are most commonly found there. That being said it wouldn’t be uncommon for Banshees to be found in other parts of the world. The modern world and it’s means of getting around are a wonderful thing.
Now, while it may be true that Banshees cry out at the oncoming death of someone, they do not do this for simply everyone they meet. Imagine a Banshee living in the city, they would perhaps never stop crying and screaming. No, Banshees will only actually cry out for someone of true Celtic descent. Only those who are truly Irish, Welsh, Scottish and Cornish, with no other ethnicity or heritage in their bloodlines will ever hear a Banshee’s cry.
Guess that means I better look over my family history.
Now with all that being said it’s not impossible to see a Banshee living in modern society. Normally they are careful about who they interact with and even where they live, but most can lead somewhat normal lives.
Still, I feel as though they are a troubled, cursed people. I’ve heard many people claim that being a Vampire or Werewolf is the worst thing in the world. But is a life of sorrow, tears and screaming, brought on by strangers you feel drawn to, not something... I don’t know...
[Latimar, you’ve gone quiet. Are you alright? - T. Crowe]
While it would be easy to list every little thing about vampires as possible, it would be also something that has been done times thousands upon thousands of times before. Perhaps eventually I will pen down a kind of profile study of the vampiric race, but until then I thought I’d share their history.
This is by no means extensive, but I feel it does help show perhaps the origins and key points in vampiric history, and how that their history is perhaps not all that different from ours.
- R. Latimar
The first official documented cases of the word Vampire being used comes from Russia, but Vampires themselves are thought to have originally come from Greece. However there are those who believe that rather than Greek , the vampire has Slavic origins. The reason for the confusion is mainly to due that early, and perhaps even the first, vampire clans that traveled in groups around central and eastern Europe. I would normally be happy to have this be the end of it and claim this as the first starting point of civilized vampires. That is until a trip to Asia showed to me evidence that a rather large vampire clan (upwards of three-hundred or more) had emerged and settled in Northern India.
While it's true that almost anyone can become a vampire, there are those among us that are more vulnerable to turning. Normally this is due to the body's natural defenses being weaker or vulnerable. This also shows that when a vampire wants to turn someone they drain them of their blood first so that they the victim's body is easier to infect.
Those who are must vulnerable are: Magicians (prolonged exposure to magick weakens the body's natural defenses), those who were previously vampires or werewolves, and those with a weakened natural defense.
From 1730 until 1735 there was of course the Vampiric Expansion Wars. The traveling vampire clans were unsatisfied with having to travel from place to place with no real land to call their own. The hundreds upon hundreds of clans united under a single leader, Creighton Stanos, and began a war that covered Hungary, Bohemia, Poland, Bulgaria and the Balkans, seeking to form a sovereign vampire nation. This ended when the Catholic church and the other major powers in Europe called for a Holy war on the vampire clans, ending the conflict. The church ordered the prisoners and ring leaders to be burnt and their ashes and bones buried in an unmarked mass grave somewhere in south-east Europe. If i find any evidence of this grave I will update you all.
Some years later in the United States, more vampires tried where their European cousins had failed. In 1854 a vampire village in New England declared itself independent from the United States of America. In 1888 this village began a march of blood and fire, looking to swell their numbers. However the American armed forces were called into action by an act of congress and in 1890 the upstart peasants were beaten and executed.
After the eruption of the first world war, like many other non-human races, vampires were called upon to enter and fight. The promise to all was that in return for service they would be offered a 'settlement' package’. This included a job upon return, a house or other property, and the same rights as the human lives they helped to defend. Unfortunately the bureaucracy of nations assured that these promises were rarely awarded. The largest number of vampiric volunteers came from central and eastern Europe.
However, when the second world war came to an end there was a massive outcry for the rights of vampires, and indeed other non-humans. By 1967 all vampires, and most of the more common non-human races, were granted the same rights as human beings, and were allowed to gain citizenship of whichever country they chose (most choosing the united states, the UK, and European countries).
As for today, Vampires are a welcome and common part of society. It's not uncommon to see a Vampire working in a coffee shop, as a bank manager, or even as a rock-star. They, like the rest of us, are not a violent race by nature. It is just unfortunate that it is the violent and dangerous vampires who have marked their name in history with blood. For every dangerous vampire you can name I will name twenty who are some of the nicest people I've ever met.
Hello all, our shop has had a flurry of calls lately regarding things that crystals can help with. Since Mr. Latimar published his research on ghosts here, I thought I could do the same with some of my research into crystals.
I have found that the crystal or mineral itself isn’t the only thing having an effect on a situation, but the colour too, Of course finding a combination of required colour and gemstone property is ideal, but using a crystal for colour/type properties alone can be just what you need!
What I’m about to post may seem long, so I’ve made all of the colours bold, so if need be you can scroll through and find the one you need.
Happy healing,
Miss. T. Crowe
First of all, many crystals contain multiple colours within them. With these, you can use the stone according to any colour you see, though the strength of the effect depends on the amount of each colour. It’s also wise to know the effects of every colour within the stone you’re using - no surprise side-effects can catch you off guard if you know exactly what you’re in for!
Of course, your intention for the stone has an impact on the effects, so if you have any questions, concerns or problems regarding using crystals for healing or spells, please do send a message! I’ll be happy to do a further PSA on ‘Crystal Care’ [Cleansing, charging, etc.], and perhaps even a weekly crystal... Hm. Food for thought.
Getting back to the matter at hand, colours can indicate the Chakra the crystal’s energy aligns with. Chakra’s are points in the body indication natural flowing channels of energy. ‘Blockages’ or irregular energy flows can affect your mood and even your health. There are 7 major chakras, I’ll go more into their energies as we continue:
Root (Red, found at the base of your spine.)
Sacral (Orange, found just below your navel.)
Solar Plexus (Yellow, found in your upper abdomen.)
Heart (Green, I’ll give you three guesses where this one is found...)
Throat (Blue, again, self explanatory.)
Third Eye (Indigo/Purple, found between your eyebrows.)
Crown (Violet, found at the very top of your head.)
We’ll start at the root, with red. A strong colour with strong connotations - passion, love and energy. The colour of blood and of fire, a red crystal can be used when the user needs a surge of motivation, dedication and power. Energy and courage can also be gathered from red crystals such as Garnet, Ruby and Red Jasper. The depth of the colour can also influence it’s uses too. A red stone can summon a drive for action, whilst a deep red stone can help find a devotion for the action - it’s wise to use these together for maximum effect.
On the lighter side of red, we find pink. Commonly associated with love and romance, pink crystals such as Rose Quartz, Morganite and Pink Opal can be useful when pursuing a romantic relationship or seeking/attracting potential partners. As it deals with matters of the heart, pink can also be used with the 4th chakra. If using pink crystals to find love, please remember that crystals only affect the user - unless it is made clear otherwise, with the full and knowing permission of the other party
Next, we move on to the Sacral chakra, and orange. This chakra corresponds with the ‘joy and pleasure center’ of your body, and as such, orange crystals are used with happiness and sexual energy. It’s an intense colour, like red, though it’s brighter and therefore more focused and creative in it’s uses. Amber and Carnelian can aid with happiness and pleasure in many forms - whether to increase or focus sexual energy, or to help bring happiness back into your life in times of grief or depression. Paler shades of orange can be helpful in milder experiences of happiness, such as lifting low moods or aiding happiness within friendships - like wise darker shades work with more intense variations of these feelings.
Going paler than orange we reach yellow, and the Solar Plexus chakra. This is your core, willpower and self-certainty. Yellow crystals can help give a sense of optimism, warmth and even enlightment. Yellow crystals like Citrine, Yellow Jasper and Tiger’s Eye can aid you when you’re having trouble communicating your thoughts, or you need a sense of decisiveness - or affirmation that you can make the correct decision. Yellow, in short, helps you get to know yourself, and be more sure in who you are.
Ah, green. The colour of new plants growing in spring, a fresh colour associated with the heart chakra. Along the same lines as yellow’s self assurance, the heart chakra helps us understand what we should accept, and what we should decline - or even push out of our lives. Green crystals, therefore, help us with new beginnings and fresh starts. If you’e made a sizable change somewhere in your life Emerald, Jade or Malachite can help ease the transition. Green crystals also boost youthfulness & fertility, luck & wealth and health & strength.
Lighter blues are linked to the throat chakra - communication, honesty and expression. Blue Lace Agate, Aquamarine and Angelite help balance and regulate the energy flow through the throat chakra, which in turn allows us to be more clear and in-tune with our thoughts feelings and opinions, as well as allowing us to clearly communicate them. Blue crystals also give us assistance with trust, sincerity and forgiveness. I also find blue stones to be helpful during times of recovery, or when you need a hand accepting something, whether this is accepting the death of a loved one, or accepting a change within your own life. [If you’re looking for a crystal to help deal with changes or grief, I would also advise talking to someone you love or trust. Words can heal.]
Darker blues, or Indigo crystals link to the Third Eye Chakra, which is just as you’d expect, in that it assists with intuition, understanding and empathy. Indigo crystals like Azurite and Blue Topaz can help in times where a judgement is made, or where you feel you are judging someone else. As well as this, indigo crystals boost maturity, morality, modesty and appreciation, and help regulate the energy flow through this chakra and allow us to use our intuition and empathy fairly and without any bias.
With violet we reach the crown chakra. Our spirituality, inspiration and imagination are managed here and as such, violet crystals like Amethyst, Ametrine and Purple Fluorite can aid us when these qualities are required. Dreams can also be influenced by crystals of this colour, when vivid or even lucid dreaming is required I would recommend a violet colour is kept close by - perhaps under your pillow. Purple, has long been a colour of luxury - the Romans used purple robes as a sign of nobility and riches, this strong agreement that purple = luxury has reached crystals, each of them instilling a sense of elegance.
Now we’ve finished each chakra, we’ll look into stones that didn’t appear as a chakra.
Brown is an earthy, strong colour, and so crystals like Smokey Quartz or wood-based crystalisations are grounding, centering, and are also used to help connect the user or their intended subject with their soul, or just find a little comfort within yourself.
Black crystals are simple in their uses, crystals such as Onyx, Obsidian and Jet is grounding, can be helpful during transformations [Physical or spiritual changes]. They can also help protect the user or their intended subject from evil and negativity in it’s many forms, as well as relieving self-doubt.
White, or clear, non-coloured crystals are associated with innocence and purity, and can boost hopefulness and optimism. They are also associated with freedom. Quartz, White Calcite and Selenite are useful with clarity - I like to keep a Quartz on my person whenever possible, I find their energy is calming.
I do hope you find this helpful - however I’d just like to put a little reminder out there: If there is a physical ailment or serious problem within your life that you’re going through: Crystals alone cannot heal everything. If you can be helped by a professional, let them help you and use crystals as a support. If you need to talk about a problem you’re having, crystals can only help so much. Talk to those you trust, get the help you deserve. Crystals are largely a complimentary therapy to professional help.
