"You can't speak on intersexuality because you're not intersex."
We. Have. Experienced. Hyperestrogenic. Symptoms.
We just don't know if it came from our underage pregnancy/miscarriage or if it came from being intersex. That is why we use the term ersex, because it is for people who cannot tell if their sex traits came from a medical event or from intersexuality.
We have experienced lactation and extreme menstrual abnormalities.
We have experienced genital dysfunction, pelvic dysfunction, and urinary dysfunction that is reminiscent of those experienced with people who have vaginal atresia and urethral variations.
We have had kids laugh at us for lactating, laugh at us or roll their eyes for our menstrual cycles, mock us for our pelvic dysfunction.
We have had doctors neglect us over and over and over on the basis of our sex traits, dismissing us and sending us home over lactation at the age of like 11-13. As an adult, refusing to check the necessary things that would tell us whether or not we are intersex, telling us "you have a vagina, so most likely not" and locking tests behind paywalls.
And in the end, we have no way to know if we have hyperestrogenism because we started using testosterone, which changed our hormone profile.
The testosterone regulated everything about our body (including issues we were having with headaches, a shit ton of fatigue, and all kinds of other things), btw, so thats an even bigger sign that estrogen was affecting us.
God forbid we involve ourselves in a community we've been desperate to engage with for six years, as we desperately seeked for answers about our body.
God forbid we make any fucking mistake or say anything you don't agree with on this account without having our experience with our body mocked and ripped to shreds.
The intersex community on Tumblr is so fucking toxic.
