Have you found a way to cut posts that ACTUALLY works? :( thankies *spreads glitter*
A way to cut posts.. Let’s see. Well, I’ve joined an RP recently, and I have found a method that seems to be working? Though it involves installing a few things, it’s not to hard to follow along! This is what I have working for me right now.
Firstly, you need the new X-Kit.
Secondly, you need the Editable Reblogs extension, off of the new x-kit extension library!
After that, I also have FixMyPosts running. I am not 100% sure if this will work with the new x-kit alone, because I have both since I have no idea how to uninstall the old one. This extension allows you to have the old dash back with the blockquotes.
Lastly, it’s come to my attention recently that when I was replying to things, only my reply would show up. How I fixed that, was that when I was finished replying, adding a gif, and tagging the post, I would switch from Rich Text Editor to HTML Editor and then just hit post. It seems to have worked like that, but another method that has worked for a few of my friends is to save your replies to drafts first, and then reply.
If you need one really tiny positive about the new update, you can make putting gifs into your replies easier, by coping and pasting the GIFs url and pasting it right into the post section, Tumblr now automatically converts the URL into the image that you need.
CHACHI'S TIPS ON: Getting people excited to roleplay with you.
These tips aren't going to be full proof, but I think that they could help you get a few more partners in the 1x1 or indie community! My word isn't law, but I just wanted to put some things out there that you could consider.
1.) BE EXCITED ABOUT WHAT YOU'RE DOING.
I think that it helps attract other people to you, if you like what you're doing. If you think roleplay is a job, or that you have to be here, you don't. And you should probably take a break. No one will be mad at you, and then when you come back, it'll make roleplaying a lot more fun. And then other people might come, since happy people tend to draw people to them.
2.) MAKE AN EFFORT (WITH BOTH THE PARTNERS YOU HAVE AND THE PARTNERS YOU DON'T.
If you just reply to your partner once a day, and never talk to them outside of that, why would they want to stay? Making an effort to befriend your partner by talking to them on other social media platforms to plot or just chat about your day will help you to a create a special bond!
On top of that, when you are roleplaying you can send memes, and do other extra things like make manips or drabbles, because I know that a lot of people just want that.
With the partners that you don't have, you can just be friendly. Make sure that your page doesn't blind the people that come onto your page, and everything for 1x1 is really easy to find.
3.) DON'T WAIT FOR PEOPLE TO COME TO YOU, GO TO THEM!
If you like a plot that someone is putting out, then message them! People will be more then happy to come plot with you and start up a plot. If you're kind and considerate, I'm sure that you'll be able to find a lot of partners!
4.) IN CONCLUSION.
If you're excited, they'll be excited! Even if you're an introvert, the 1x1 and indie communities specifically are both two really good places to try and put yourself out there. So, good luck!
LINKS TO HELP YOU: TRY AND GIVE RACIALLY ACCURATE FC HELP
This is not the be all, end all way of doing this. (I mean there are people in the community that give better help then I do) I just decided to create this guide to provide everyone with helpful links that could help you when you are giving faceclaim help. If anyone wants to add any other resources that could help the community out, feel free to message me and I'll add it in!
There are a few links that are going to become your best friend, when it comes to giving faceclaim help.
The first is ethnicelebs. I understand that the blog is really difficult to navigate, but it can help you find what you are looking for. To find a certain celebrity, the best way to go about finding them on the website is to add their name to the URL. For example, I'm going to pretend that I'm going to look for Chace Crawford. So I'm going to take the URL, and add Chace Crawford, like this: http://ethnicelebs.com/chace-crawford. Then it will take me to a page that says what ethnicity he is. That will help you narrow down what faces to look for when you are trying to find someone related to him. You can also use the blog in a broader sense as well. By clicking on the all celebs tab at the top, you'll eventually find a list of possible backgrounds on the right side. Then you just click on one and the site will give you a bunch of different celebrities that come from that background.
The second is FC Directories. They have all been created by various members of our own communities. The biggest one is RPHelper's. but there are also ones by LazyResources, EvansyHelp and there's one more out there but I can't remember who's it is. For these, all you have to do is research what ethnicity you are looking for, and then click the correct tab on the page. Then you are left with a bunch of different choices that could possibly answer your question!
Google. You use it to research stuff, so why should fc help be any different? A little research can make all the difference!
I've gone through Catholic Elementary School from Grade 1 to Grade 7 and then I've finished my third year of Catholic high school this past June. So, yeah. I think I kind of know what I'm talking about when it comes to Catholic High School. This guide is all my personal experience, and I suppose it will be in some strange bullet form, since I don't know how to organize my ramblings. This is just my input.
Some Catholic High Schools require the students to take an entrance exam. Mine doesn't, so I don't know what goes on there. My school however has two exams that you can take during June of your Grade 7 Year. One is AP French. If you take it and you pass, you get placed in the Advanced French course when you are in Grade 8. This course is essentially Grade 12 French. The second one is challenging Grade 8 Math. It's a test you take in June, and only the 30 students with the highest scores get into the course. The send you a letter in the summer if you got in, and if you are accepted into the course, you take Grade 9 Math in Grade 8. (I'm in this one.)
Tuition. It's expensive man. I don't know much exactly, but there are three different categories that you can fall under. One is non-catholic / non-practicing catholic. They normally make you pay more. The second is catholic. It's basically just a catholic that goes to church. The third is like for people who go to church and volunteer in their church a lot. It allows you to pay less for school.
There are often less kids in Catholic high schools then in public high schools, so there are smaller class sizes.
Most of the kids in my school are white / Asian / European, but there is still a lot of other races / ethnicities represented as well.
Yes there's a uniform. You buy it in August / September, before classes start.
Courses: Because Catholic schools are only partially government funded, there aren't many electives to choose from. Here's a list of the one's available at my school:
Media Arts
Yearbook
Foods
Textiles
IT
Drama
Band
Choir
Music Composition
There's also Religion Class.
Mass: My school has a mass every month. It's a church service, and it makes classes shorter.
The teacher normally does a prayer before every class.
There are mid-terms and finals / provincials, since apparently some schools don't have mid-terms.
There can really be some shit people at Catholic School, since they often come from rich families. That doesn't mean that there aren't nice people as well, but they're there.
STEREOTYPES OF KIDS WHO GO TO CATHOLIC SCHOOL INCLUDE:
"Everyone who goes to Catholic School is rich."
"Everyone who goes to Catholic School is a genius."
"All they do in Catholic School is pray ever day."
Those are all the one's I've heard before.
